Nissan streamlines Nismo, extends parts availablity in Japan

Nissan's in-house tuning arm, Nismo, is looking to expand its reach both in its home market and abroad, beginning with an S-Tune package for, of all things, the Tiida.
Beyond the Tiida (Versa here in the States), Nissan plans to offer Nismo parts and professional tuning at every one of its dealerships in Japan, with plans to expand the network across the globe. That could mean that you'll be able to hit up your local Nissan dealer for a Nismo exhaust and intake, have it installed while you're there and possibly get an ECU reflash to make better use of the parts. It's the wave of the future and you can't deny getting factory-approved and installed parts that would provide piece of mind while keeping your warranty intact.

So are they going to NISMO-ize every car?

i believe ford does a pretty good job at supplying performance parts for its cars, at a decant price even...if you want to look at how NOT to do it look at the prices for some of the Scion accessories....~$200 for an armrest! ~$150 for floor mats. and the performance parts are even worse

While it's nice to keep your warranty, you are going to pay for it. Think twice as much for the parts plus overpriced labor.

make a friend at a nissan dealer. you'd be surprised at the discounts you can get by just being friendly with dealershiper personel. they would rather give you a discount and make you a happy long term customer.
i applaud nissan for this move into performance and style upgrades. i would love to see them start pumping out vehicles like SRT does over at chrysler.

I want them to add a Nismo turbo option cause that would POWN! Factory tuned vehicles are an awesome idea as long as they aren't dud's like the Mugen Civic

Just becuase they have a website does not mean they exist in the U.S.A....shoot Nissan USA an email about it...IF you get a response (most NISMO USA employees have been reassigned or let go) it will be to tell you that Nissan USA no longer supports ANY motorsports efforts in any way shape or form and that they are "assessing" the viability of any sort of NISMO products or development...

I hope Nissan extends NISMO over to Infiniti as well, and takes a run at AMG, BMW's "M", Lexus' "F", and all the other letters of the high-perf alphabet.
A G37 "N" would be nice. ;-)

if infiniti decided to add performance arm to its cars, they shouldn't use "N". i suggest they use "B" as in Beyond.
think of the marketing and partnership possibilities with Disney/Pixar.
a lot of rich parents will want the FX45 "B"
the buzz lightyear edition~
