On a personal note, I'm on my sixth in a row caddy, now driving an 06 STS-V and my daughter drives my previous 03 STS approaching 200k for school and aside from 1 trip to the dealer for a recall has been flawless. I know several BMW owners that likewise have been flawless, but we all know about the electrical gremlins BMW owners have complained about. A business assiciate and golf buddy has an M3 (summer car) and an X5 (winter car) and has had many problems with both. His father has a flawless X5.
I work hard for my money and in all honesty, if Cadillac were these unreliable garbage barges that so many try to tell us, it's simple. I would'nt keep buying and praising them. And now with these new designs coming from Caddy, the excitement is justly elevated.
One last thing, as a car collector I have an 88 Allante w/17k, flawlessly original, and a 70 restored Eldorado conv. Honda's and Toyota's might be fine for those who enjoy getting an oil change from the dealer - but if you're any kind of self-proclaimed enthusiast, you're gonna do your homework, take care of the car in the first place, address recalls as they pop up, and roll with the punches as they land.

4 previous Dodge's, 4 Chrysler Corp Automatics, all ran flawlessly for well over 400,000km each. I stopped reading consumer reports a year ago. It is dribble from the average uninformed consumer. Actually, I don't know where they find these people? I know a lot of people driving the CTS and never heard a bad word. I always liked the CTS line and thought they did a remarkable job making it into a 2 door coupe. It is obvious they could have been much lazier on total design and still sold well it if they wanted to.
