There are more special editions Mustangs than you can shake a wrench at, but of all the variants we've seen so far, the Saleen SA-25 Sterling Edition is one of our favorites. Not only does it take all the attributes of the stock model and accentuates them, the SA-25's supercharged V8 comes packing 620 hp and 600 lb.-ft. of torque. The power matches the poise and we've added a handful of shots to the gallery below.

It still needs to be made entirely of Sterling Silver to justify it's price. What a ****ing rip-off.

So when is a tuner gonna "grow a set", strip the unwanted fat out, carbonfiber it, give it rear IRS, a 6 spd sequential, AP brakes, recaro or sparco interior, and sell it with a warranty? Saleen your cars are boring!

Anyone else getting sick and tired of all the different Mustang models now? I mean zzzzzz.

You bet! Does anyone in the US buy the normal Mustang anymore?

Did anybody else notice the S2K borrowed engine start button? hehe

So, is that like the 89th Mustang variation?

I love all these different mustang variants and I'm not being sarcastic. I think they are fun to look at, read about, talk about and probably fun to own. The fact that there are so many out there just goes to show truly how great this car is.

great != popular
some of the greatest cars are very rare or even one of a kind.
Sometimes popular means affordable, and sometimes affordable means corners cut and compromises made.

I swear to god I saw this mustang today, except it was a ragtop. Saleen and all.
Oh and there are too many mustang models. I remember where it used to be Mustang V6 and Mustang V8. But now, there's friggin GT500's and GT500KR's, 80 different Saleen variations. Then there's the Shelby's and Bullits. I'm truly sick of it. Enough is enough.

Ford (by itself) has something like five or six variants. It's the tuner companies that are going to town on the Mustang. The problem? Ford can't do anything about it.
Slidder- Don't hold your breath. If people are bitching and moaning about this car, I am sure even more people would complain if someone built a Mustang to those kinds of specs. The one thing I like about Saleen is that they continue to pump a crap load of power out of the ALUMINUM 4.6L (and 5.0L) V-8s. I find it sad that a Mustang from another company can beat the crap out of Ford's own GT500 for nearly the same amout of money and usually with less power. Even with those mods, Saleen still offers a factory warranty...

If the Saleen Mustangs are so boring Slidder, then why is he selling so many of them?
jetboy @ Mar 6th 2008 10:57PM
I've never read so much bitchin about a car putting out 620 horse, and one of 25 in the world, anyone that can do math and dosen't buy one needs their head opened up!
