VIDEO: Terry Grant's world record "J-Turn" in a Twingo

Yesterday we told you about stunt driver Terry Grant setting a Guiness World Record by performing a J-Turn through a narrow gap of just 378 centimeters. A J-Turn is basically reversing a car in a straight line, throwing it into a 180-degree turn and driving away on the same same line. We bemoaned to ourselves that there was no video available at the time, but ask of the internet and ye shall receive. Watch Terry Grant's world record J-Turn after the jump, and note that the diagonal length of the Twingo used by Terry Grant in the stunt is 370 centimeters, so at some point during his record there was just 4 centimeters between car and barrier on either side.

That's just bonkers...!
Well done!!
I wonder what kind of pressure he runs in his tires... of course, there's the slick concrete to consider, but still - less than 2 inches of clearance on either corner at that speed? That's threading the needle!
Blindfolded!
With boxing gloves on!
While running from a pack of dobermans!

yay for a single camera angle where you can't even gauge the closeness of the barriers. How about an overhead shot? Seems like that should be a given for a stunt like this.

Let's see him do it with something worth a little more loose change, like a Rolls Drop Head coupe. That's where the balls are!

Someone's math is wrong. The official Twingo specs are 360cm x 165.5cm. That would make the diagonal 396cm. OK, the diagonal is shorter because the car is curved on the corners but could it be that much less.
The turn is amazing nonetheless.

Look at the average front bumper. most are curved to the point of being a radius around the center. If the rear has a little curve, it fits.
That thing is 5 1/2 feet wide??? I was unaware that a man could actually drive a Twingo.

I need to learn how to do that. Someone lend me their car.

Yeah, we always called it a Rockford, and it's not to hard in a properly rented car to pull off.
