Jeep did this 2 years ago, and 3, 4, 5, heck, 10+ years ago. Every freaking year Jeep makes some plastic bubbly Jeep thing, and it's always ugly, and it never amounts to crap. They are still making the same unchanged vehicles that they have been for 50+ years. Wrangler? Virtually unchanged design since WW2. Cherokee, unchanged since early 80s? Grand Cherokee, most changes here, but still looks like the same thing for the most part. Durango, virtually unchanged since inception. I mean, seriously, they are the MOST boring car company in the world IMHO.

TexRob

Comments on

The least informed are always the most opinionated...

Here's my stupid-ass, uninformed comment:

Every Civic is the same Civic they've been making for the last 30years right down to the Honda-hole above the top of the inner fender well. I have seen so many Jeep concepts at Detroit over the years, in fact they usually have one every year. Last time I was in Detroit was 2005 when the Hurricane made it's debut - a nice looking Jeep, but honestly I even think the TJ is too plastic. My YJ was the perfect blend of tank-like build quality, and modern amenities - a radio, ABS, fuel injection. They can keep building the Liberty and Patriot for people who want the Jeep lifestyle but want to stay warm, and they need to build a REAL Jeep for those of us who actually like the fact that it's hard to drive, rips it up off-road, and bolt things to it without cutting away miles of plastic trim.

tek

Comments on

Looks like a roadster with a lift and big wheels...and a frog-like appearance.

nmmalone

Comments on

>>> Not the best Jeep concept or the worst, but definitely not my cup of tea.

However, I do applaud the company's effort for looking forward to alternative fuel designs and powerplants. Ever since I bought a getaway in the mountains, I have had to leave the Miata at home. It does not ford streams very well. This Renegade would do the mountain thing and sports car thing. At first I thought I might like a small pickup bed in the back, but I'll just put one of those carrier thingees on the trailer hitch if I need to carry extra stuff. Oh, and, I want a combustion engine in it. How about a rotary?

Clarence Young

Comments on

Agree with the other comments here.
