I don't see any huge gaps between the panels at least according to the photos. The new truck looks good and the bed sidesteps, tailgate step, stowable bed extender, and six extra inches in the already large crew cab are perfect for everyday use. Leave it to ford to come up with new stuff every year to outsmart the competition! When is chevy or gmc getting overhead cam V-8 engines? Maybe 2-5 more years! Perfect for a 4x2 model<br>and hopefully Ford pushed the 5.4 to 315hp 375ft-lbs<br><br>Hopefully the transmission selector for the 6 speed autos will be better than shown. P R N D 3 2 1 (with an OD off button on the side)<br>What does OD off mean when the ZF 6 speed auto has dual overdrive gear ratios?<br><br>Dual beam headlights, ha. The price to have reverse equal to first gear is too much (no ratio spread, oddly spaced gears). That needs to be fixed asap [6 speed auto].<br><br>Hopefully the VCT and short runners on the Hemi can help the engine actually operate on 4 cylinders, in the real world. This should allow up to 8 forward speeds and 3 reverses.   <br><br>The transmission was released as the 45RFE for the '99 JGC 10 years ago.  This was a 4 speed transmission with an asterisk, in that it had 5 seperate forward speeds but could not shift them sequentially.  You could do 1-2-4-OD or OD-4-3-1.<br><br>The 545RFE is the same physical gearbox with electronics reprogrammed to allow the use of a 2nd slightly taller OD, so it's a sort-of 6 speed.<br><br>Seems to me like a lot of unnecessary complexity to end up with such poorly balanced gear ratios.
