This is why internet nothings don't design cars. This, like the "article" says, is an evolution and nothing new. Take away the rims and this is just the old one with ground effects and a nose job. The other one looked better. Winding Road is king. : )

The FD was widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever made, so as a starting point there are worse places.
This concept could easily be modified to incorporate the design language seen in the Mazda Furai. You can give this concept the Furai's curzes in the turn signals, the lights, the vent outlets.
In my mind, the language of the Furai could be conveyed in the detailing, unless it adds some functional value that I missed. Those modern details incorporated with a foundation based off the FD and you have a pretty good crack at a Mazda sports car.

if only the FD came with an engine that lasted more than 40K miles before a full rebuild
