I checked the 335d Saloon Auto 6-spd on the British government database and it returns 25.7 urban/35.0 combined mpg (US) which is better than the posted above and a bit more logical. 35 mpg hwy and a 0-60 of 6.2 in a car as large as a 3-series is quite an accomplishment.
The Brit test (urban=city, combined=highway) are pretty close to the 2008 EPA test from my experience. For example, to compare on a similar baseline, the 330i gasoline Man 6spd Coupe 18 urban/25 combined in British/EU testing. 2008 US EPA is 17/26 mpg for the same car. Pretty darn close.
A 325d coupe will do 30.0 urban/39.7 combined mpg (US). Sign me up!
