Vandenbrink dreams up Ferrari 612 shooting brake
UPDATE: Another view added to the gallery.

Vandenbrink Design seems to be on a roll recently, announcing production of both the 599 GT0 and 630 GTO, as well as a releasing a rendering that suggests what a Fiorano-based convertible GT could look like. Not having the blessing of Ferrari has yet to deter Michiel B. van den Brink from speaking his mind through his pen, but we doubt this latest piece of auto-art will put him in the good graces of the men from Maranello.
Vandenbrink is looking to the folks at FerrariChat for some inspiration and advice for a 612-based shooting brake (i.e. wagon) that the firm is currently considering. We're smitten with the idea of a Ferrari hatch that's got a bit more functionality to compliment its competent chassis and V12 power plant, but we're not entirely willing to give up the clean lines of the standard coupe. That said, Vandenbrink has done a sublime job of integrating the new back-end into the GT's powerful swage lines, and if anyone could pull it off, Michiel can.
Your thoughts, as always, are graciously accepted below.

Cause everyone buys a Ferrari wishing it had just a touch more practicality.

Yeah, Ferrari will put their badge on anything now for a buck. You can have a Ferrari hat, computer, cell phone... well pretty much anything. They seem to be taking the NASCAR branding model to the exotic sports car world. I can hear some gamer geek winning his WoW battle and thanking his "Acer-Ferrari computer powered AMD for being the fastest machine..." if yer not first yer last...

This kind of monsters are for sultans (who use Ferrari as golf caddies) or for eccentric British new-rich. In the rest of the world, specially in Italy, people hate this kind of abomination; but if Vanderbrink built it, someone had to be interested...

It is good to see the the Volvo 1800 ES is still inspiring car designers today.

Shouldn't that be 'break' instead of 'brake'. In Europe, 'break' is a designation for an estate.

I'd tap it

For those who cannot decide on getting a Magnum SRT8 or a Corvette.

You can probably get both of those if you had the money to buy this one!

No, it doesn't look especially good to me, but it could be because it's based on the worst looking Ferrari since the 400i.
