Tokyo Auto Salon '08: Honda Fit Luxe'ster

The Tokyo Auto Salon is almost upon us, and as is the case each year, manufacturers have show cars ready for what is essentially the Japanese version of SEMA. Tuned and accessorized cars are the focus, and Honda has a few items ready to go. We'll start with the Fit Luxe'ster. This is what you get when you take a JDM Fit RS, throw on a set of 15" Modulos and wrap the seats, door panels, steering wheel, shift knob and a healthy portion of the IP in dark tan leather. For good measure, throw in a set of matching fabric mats. Of course, "Honda Fit" and "Luxury" are terms that are pretty much at odds with each other, but anything goes at the TAS. [Source: Carview]

The brown color and the style of upholstery is awful.

Looks way too much like vinyl seat covers! Is this a joke?

Exactly....Honda really knows how to screw up a good thing. In the late 90's Honda builds an ugly hatchback (Civic), then proclaims America hates hatchbacks. Now they redesign the nice looking 1st gen Fit, replacing it with this freak of a hatchback, and to add insult to injury they customize it with leather that looks like vinyl.

Man....that blue over brown combo is HORRIBLE! And yes, it DOES look like Honda literally ripped off a Yaris nose piece / hood & tacked it onto the front of a sandblasted Fit body.
Keep it in Japan.....

It's not a bad design, but compared to the current Fit it looks like it's on tippy-toes.

Looks great to me, but, where's the electric or hybrid version?

Perhaps the angriest rodent-faced auto I've seen in a while. Not an improvement.

i don't mind the new fit AT ALL....very sporty looking imo....the luxury would be nice....i'm in the market for a luxury compact/sub-compact and the Saab 9-1 isnt out till 2009 as a 2010 model....same with the 9-4x (i've got inside info)
