Used Audi R8 for sale cheap with couple dings

The Audi R8 is an aspirational item for most, meaning that most will only aspire to own one and never get to park the actual item in their garage. We blame the $118,000 USD price tag, which is even more in other markets, for own own personal inability to attain one. What if someone were selling a slightly used R8 for cheap? This one's for sale in Germany at the going rate of 35,999 EUR, or just about $52,430 USD. Yes, it's been scratched... and the front end completely destroyed, along with the driver's side rear fender. But the glorious 4.2L V8 mounted in the middle is in pristine condition, and that's all that matters, right? Honestly, all kidding aside, not even Cooter could bring this car back to life, which means $52 grand would be a chunk of chump change for what is essentially a large German paperweight.

These car companies need to make people take driving courses before they let them on the roads with these supercars. The stupidity.

Last time I drove one courtesy of audi, two of the people in my group of eight had one on order. People are stupid, People make mistakes, my ex's dad totaled his viper one night thinking margaritas and V10's mixed.

This doesn't just apply to cars. People buy nice things and do stupid stuff with it all the time. It's just that you would hope someone bright enough to afford an expensive car like this would be able to drive it properly. Also it would be wise to just assume that there was something else involved in this scenario besides just bad driving. Jumping on the hate wagon a bit quick there aren't ya?
@Zamafir- funny thing is my sister dated a neurosurgeon who wrapped his viper around a pole exiting a freeway. He blamed it on his tires sucking. Smart guy, bad decision.
Be safe out there guys just because you are Michael Schumacher doesn't give you the right to drive recklessly even if you think your are in control, you're not because there are many uncontrollable factors on public roads.

Wow, you obviously know nothing about the crash itself and the outcome but still feel compelled to make a stupid comment. You are an idiot.
Btw., how do you expect a car to look like after a serious crash? Showroom condition?
Taylor 4:17PM (12/27/2007)
I do know that the crash regulations are supposed to make sure the pillars are reinforced, but you can't tell what the driver will do with a such a car. But then again, you seem like the person who WOULD total such a car. =\
Vega 5:23PM (12/27/2007)
Sorry for the strong words. However the roof and pillars to me look like they have been bent and cut with hydraulic equipment after the crash in order to get to the passengers

It's for sale for 36k, not $52k. Just because the Dollar has tanked doesn't mean the whole world has to follow and get cheaper. The US isn't the center of everything.
tc 5:01PM (12/27/2007)
I think $36k is still too much for that pile of aluminum, even if new ones are selling with markup for $164k in the US http://www.pricehub.com/price/Audi/R8
Bungle 7:34PM (12/27/2007)
I agree. Maybe I'm naive, but the *only* thing of value on the entire car that's not damaged beyond repair (aside from, perhaps, a rim or two) is the engine. Obviously an R8 engine goes for more than a Camry engine, but... $36K?
