We are big fans of the movie Transformers despite its faults, and not because we're fascinated with alien robots, but rather because it shows off some of our favorite cars in action. You can't get your very own Bumblebee yet with production of the Camaro still a year away, but you can buy this replica of Barricade being sold by McDonald Ford in Freeland, Michigan. This 2007 Mustang was built by Saleen to help promote the movie, and features the same police garb found on the movie car with a few changes. "To punish and enslave" has been changed to "Power in the hands of a few", and the 911 decal has been switched to a 411 promoting the Saleen web site. The light bar is also absent, probably to help prevent the vehicle from being mistaken for an actual police vehicle. That's probably a good thing, considering it's a felony to impersonate a police vehicle. The buyer also gets the standard Saleen add-ons including the body kit, upgraded interior, Racecraft suspension, and supercharged engine, so this marketing prop is more than just eye-candy. Pretty much the only thing it can't do is hunt down Sam Witwicky, grandson of Archibald Witwicky.

No "To punish and enslave" no sale.

Can't drive it in CA, they'll make you paint the doors black.
Zane @ Dec 27th 2007 5:39PM
I can foresee some pissed cops writing multiple tickets to the owner of this car.
Benfolio @ Dec 27th 2007 5:46PM
Why? Nothing on the car is illegal (except the doors, and that's a CA only law).
Unless you mean all the speeding tickets the owner is going to get from exploiting that S/C V8. :)

Good luck getting that paint scheme on the roads in California.
VP @ Dec 27th 2007 6:10PM
What is the rules in CA? Is it that you can't have white doors?
SPG @ Dec 27th 2007 6:12PM
I'm referring to the Geek Squad having to repaint their black and white New Beetles.
Also an amusment park in California had a fleet of black and white security vehicles that they had to repaint blue.
Benfolio @ Dec 27th 2007 6:17PM
yes the law is you cannot have a white roof and white doors or white doors (but you can have JUST a white roof) on a black vehicle. Too many agencies in CA use the black and white scheme so they deemed it illegal for any civilian to own a car painted as such.
Taylor @ Dec 27th 2007 6:18PM
Nothing on that Saleen replicates Barricade except for the paint scheme. Seriously Autoblog, have you not seen Transformers?
Matt @ Dec 27th 2007 6:35PM
Haha, that car is so worthless, it just completly fails as a replica.
WillDaThrill @ Dec 27th 2007 9:51PM
It does look like something is missing.?.?.? Must be the light bar and/or the option to transform and kick ass.

man you guys in the comment sections always cry about something. That thing is sweet and I would drive that around in a heartbeat scaring people on the road just by being parked on the side.

I just saw one of these today (12/29) at the San Diego Auto Show. Stangpede, the local Stang club (natch) had one in their show display, next to the area where they were taking a bone stock '08 GT right off the dealer floor and tricking it out for The Fast and the Furious 4 movie. They intended to do the build in 6 hrs. So fwiw, the Mustang that's going to be in TFAF 4 is a maroon GT with a whole bunch of Saleen parts.
