Dodging a tow truck in Glasgow, with a Ram

Alan Love is a millionaire who apparently doesn't believe rules apply to him. Alan lives in Glasgow, Scotland and has a predilection for parking illegally. After getting his cars towed on numerous occasions he has come up with a novel way of avoiding that little problem: get a vehicle bigger than the tow trucks. In a country where high fuel prices cause most people to drive smaller cars, Glasgow authorities didn't have any tow trucks capable of removing Love's new three-ton Dodge Ram pickup. Love evidently pays his £150 in parking tickets, but still believes he should be able to park wherever he feels like. Now that the escalation is continuing with the Glasgow City Council buying two new tow trucks capable of towing the Ram, the question is what will Love do next, buy one of these?

Bribing the local cops would seem simpler. Bonus- probably cheaper too.

The traffic wardens in Glasgow are part of the council and the police have nowt to do with it.

To bad. The truck could have one of those "wheel locks" put on it though. Then he would have to pay the fine to move his truck. This would be cheaper that a larger tow truck.

What about a Mack truck? But will it fit on the roads of Glasgow?

Typical europen car tow truck used to tow wrong parker in europen citys.. the cran can lift 4to (8900lbs) and the winch cable can pull 6to(13,200lbs) up the ramp... if needed it tow 2 Dodge Ram1500 at once out of town
What do US people belive how they tow Mercedes S-Class RR or Bentley..they weight the same 5000lbs as a Dodge Ram1500
Not to talk about the up to 60to(132,000lbs) heavy trucks used in Europe since some time as a replacement for the old 42to (92,600lbs) trucks used in the past

@irfan
roads that such a small tow truck can´t use in Europe are rare..and extrem hard to find in larger citys like Glasgow.
I always have to laugh my ass off what US people think about the size of europen streets... most large citys in the USA are founded befor the first car hit the street same as all europen large citys.
A Dodge Ram is large compared to a Golf..it is small compared to a standart europen city delivery truck in the under 7.5to class...and it is very small compared to normal europen trucks in the over 7.5to to 60to class.

95% of the city streets are big enough for large trucks up to 60to... a Dodge Ram get easy lost there..

It's not we in the US who claim that it can't be towed. According to the source article, which appears to be from a British publication, it's the Glaswegians: "Parking officials from Glasgow City Council have already tried - and failed - to remove the Ram from double yellow lines." The article also says his Ram weighs three tonnes (6,600 lbs.).

He was going to get a Tundra but then realized most of the parts (tailgate, output shaft, wheels, torque converter, camshaft, dashboard etc) would have fallen off making it light enouph for any tow truck to take away. I think Toyota now calls it "Amortised weight compensation".

Why is this guy "funny"? He blatantly and flagrantly breaks the law and laughs in the government's face. Let's have everyone just follow whatever laws they choose, that'll surely end well.
This guy is clearly a jackass, and I hope they impound his car indefinitely.

I agree with you. He needs to loose his license and possibly the car. It's not the tickets I gather that's the problem, it's where he parks.. Block the hydrant, a house burns down with people in it maybe...

Oh wait, silly me -- he's rich so he's better than all of us! The rules don't apply; how could I forget?
