VIDEO: 0-60 mag gets first crack at Corvette ZR1

Our reaction to the official press shot of the Corvette ZR1 was a little guarded. The bright blue car that accompanied the lifting of the embargo left us thinking a bit more about Hot Import Nights than we were comfortable with. 0-60 Magazine recently had a photo shoot with another ZR1, and this one dressed nice. All the tungsten instruments around 0-60's ZR1 really play up the surface detailing of the C6 Corvette, and the handsome metallic gray hue made this particular ZR1 a stealth bomber. There's the minor detail of that polycarbonate skylight in the hood, and the humongous brake package peeking from behind equally huge rims is far more striking in person than pictures will ever convey, too. So, even in a subdued color, the ZR1 still manages to announce to the world that it's packing something special. There's nothing of any consequence in the video, it's a few walkarounds of one of the hottest cars extant. It's a nice holiday treat, so stop feasting on goodies for a couple minutes and hit the jump for some eye candy instead. [Source: 0-60]

Very cool car, but the sound in that video makes it sound like a UPS truck. I hope is sounds better than that!

Again, why are you posting the full gallery on the main page? You didn't post the full gallery every time there was GT-R news. I've always thought you guys were paid by GM, between McElroy's articles and Kool Aid GM biases, now I know.

Andrew - why don't you start your own auto blog, get paid by whoever you want to get paid by - if you are paid at all - and you can post the full gallery of any car on any page you wish. How dare the creators of a free blog post what they want to post! Unbelievable, don't you think? You should demand your money back.

The nice thing about this blog is that there's a comment section. If I leave a comment, some might just read it, some might respond. It keeps it interesting. I know there's others who feel the same way as me and I know there are others who feel the opposite. That's the wonderful thing about opinions.

Wow. Good one. Look, I think it's awesome that you try to insult people over the internet. I'm impressed by your manhood, I really am. But my reply was in no way a defense of the ZR-1 or Autoblog. It was just a comment on how some people complain about free content. That's all. If you want to choose to insult me again, I am sure everyone will be as impressed as I am.

People griped about GT-R news and Mustang news but never for Corvette news.

How was the Lexus 2008 LS460 NOT on the ten best car list? I have been a Lexus owner for 5 years and I just got the LS460. It drives like a dream and has made everyone else's 10 best list. I would like to know why it did not make this list.

I absolutely hate how this car looks in the ridiculous cobalt blue Chevy has chosen. Having said that, it looks much, much, much better in the slate grey. But, WTF is up with those orange-ish leather inserts in the interior? Really strange looking.
