click above image for 11 new pics of the 2009 Subaru Forester

We now have 22 unofficial images of the 2009 Subaru Forester in this gallery, which could be more pics than what Subaru plans to officially release on December 25th when the new CUV actually debuts. We found these on the Forester Owners Forum, page 104 of a long thread relating to 2009 Forester news and rumors. We don't know who took them or where they were taken and we don't want to know - we just want to look at them, as they are the clearest and largest images yet that have crossed our desks. The batch also includes a view of the new Forester's interior, which, well, isn't all that interesting or groundbreaking, kind of like the exterior. It may suit your needs just fine, though.

For the moment, I don't like the design direction Subaru is taking. However, I wonder if it will grow on me? The new Accord was ugly at first, but it's slowly growing on me. And the Nissan Rogue? I thought it was nice at first, but the more I see it, the more I dislike it.

That's one fugly wagon, and it has two mirrors on the passenger side?

It's Japanese visibility laws. Most large vehicles like SUVs have big blind spots, the fender mirrors take care of that.

What the hell happened to Subaru's design department?? The carp mouth grill was one thing, but this latest work takes the ugly stick to the whole car.....

The old ones were ugly in a cool sort of way. These are just ugly.

The front end looks like a Sebring mated with the new Focus. Horrible. Subaru design has gone downhill into an abyss.

That rear seat looks like poop, except poop would be more comfortable to sit in. I hope the Legacy/Outback don't turn out this odd looking when they get redesigned next year.

      I wish it would end.

For the love of god, it's a Subaru Forester. Who cares. Leaked pics of what it looks like is fine. Weekly/daily leaked pics of it makes it look like Subaru is buying advertising.

Looks like Subaru changed the door frames to full frame as opposed to the open window glass in current line-up. They changed it in the new Impreza too.
That is a welcoming change (but sacrificing the style) to reduce the wind noise......hopefully!

Styling adoptions is O.K.......But wish they picked the best, not the ugly ones from the lot!

Love to see a Diesel with 6-speed in it.

The design isn't inspiring me, but I do have one question...

exactly what is the difference between this and a 4-cylinder Outback wagon, other than looking slightly more boring?

Shame that the Legacy wagon was canned, and this is seen fit for market, when it is actually quite redundant to the Outback, which is just a raised Legacy wagon (at some point Legacy became the also-ran to the Outback, where the Outback was once a Legacy option package.)

Maybe they are doing this on purpose for free marketing?

Aren't you guys starting to feel a tad manipulated?

This reminds of the release of the original Zune, when Microsoft released a series of "leaks" to get free "viral" marketing.

I know this is a blog, and you want to put out as much as possible, but maybe it's time to just wait until the real pics come? Certainly this can't be the first time "news" item you've passed on.
