Edna cares a great deal about the supers who are willing to pay her a huge sum of money for her designs. Naturally, she had to warn Mr. Incredible about the impracticality of capes, which, prior to the ban on superheroes, led to the deaths of Dynaguy, Meta-Man, Stratogale, and Thunderhead and the disappearance and possible death of Splashdown.

ah! that's right. it was edna, not mr. incredible that had reservations about capes. oh well, I guess I'm not that big of a nerd
