Since the automotive acid trip that is the Speed Racer trailer left us shaking our heads, there's not much left for us to look forward to on the big screen. Thankfully, Warner Bros. is rectifying the matter with what we're hoping will be the most badass Batman flick to date: the Dark Knight. The Joker's back, and as we've seen already, he doesn't stand a chance.
This newest shot released by the film house shows the man in black taking his Batpod for a spin and naturally, we've got a high-res pic for your desktop enjoyment below. The return continues on July 18th next year and you can sate your thirst for details by checking the Wikipedia page and Cinematical in the meantime.

Does he sit on his cape when riding for fear of getting it sucked in the rear wheel?
John R @ Dec 11th 2007 4:09PM
see Mr. Incredible's anecdote on why he doesn't "do capes"

I'm psyched to see this movie. It's 60% of the reason why I'm seeing 'I am Legend' this weekend on IMAX. There going to be a 6 min Joker prolgue before the Will Smith Flick.
Todd @ Dec 11th 2007 4:24PM
Really? I was going to avoid Will Smith's remake of the classic Omega Man ( http://imdb.com/title/tt0067525/ ) like the plague - but if there's a batman trailer, I'll go just for that.
FYI for you with little kids, Christopher Nolan's "Joker" will be seriously scary, like Exorcist scary. No camp. No yuk-yuk silliness, just horror.
rv @ Dec 11th 2007 5:16PM
Its not a "remake" of "Omega Man" or "The Last Man On Earth" with Vincent Price. It's based on a very good book by Richard Matheson which you should pick up and read easily in a day. Nobody has done the book justice and I doubt the Will Smith version will change things...
Carlos @ Dec 11th 2007 5:32PM
The joker was never supposed to be a childish humor villain, he is supposed to be a sick and twisted villain who finds humor in killing people. In the dark knight returns, he gives all of these boy scouts poisoned cotton candy and in the next frame you see them all laying dead.
Also you beat me too it John!
As for I am legend, it's based off of a book that was written in the 1950's, it's the whole Dracula vs humans thing except reversed, now it's human vs Draculas.
WillDaThrill @ Dec 11th 2007 10:47PM
@Todd,
So you're going to pay 10 dollars to see a six minute skit on the joker? A skit that you can probably catch on the internet this weekend for free? If you don't like Will Smith movies just say it, but I seriously doubt that you'll walk out after the skit has played.
The previews make the movie look interesting, unlike the Speed Racer skit. It looks action packed, just my opinion though.

Edna cares a great deal about the supers who are willing to pay her a huge sum of money for her designs. Naturally, she had to warn Mr. Incredible about the impracticality of capes, which, prior to the ban on superheroes, led to the deaths of Dynaguy, Meta-Man, Stratogale, and Thunderhead and the disappearance and possible death of Splashdown.
John R @ Dec 11th 2007 4:19PM
ah! that's right. it was edna, not mr. incredible that had reservations about capes. oh well, I guess I'm not that big of a nerd
tankd0g @ Dec 11th 2007 4:20PM
Does it float?
Donald @ Dec 11th 2007 4:49PM
No, the cape doesn't float.
We're still talking about capes, right?
Mi key @ Dec 11th 2007 4:51PM
That's a nice lookiing bike, hopefully it last longer in the movie than the bat boats due.
MikeUF @ Dec 11th 2007 4:57PM
I know this batman is supposed to be darker...but I still hope those aren't guns on the front of the bike.
Carlos @ Dec 11th 2007 7:06PM
They're for non lethal purposes like the guns on the tumbler.
EMC @ Dec 11th 2007 5:36PM
Oh yeah!
bring on the psychologically disturbed batman!
jasonbaglin @ Dec 11th 2007 6:00PM
A definite mannequin on a bike, wonder if it is a minature.
Check the skin tone in the high def and the angle of the head, looking a tire not out at road.
bob d @ Dec 11th 2007 6:35PM
The fat tires are great but it's too simple. It's just not bat enough for me. This could be in a terminator or other sci-fi movie just as easily. I think Warner is loosing it.
It's about the bat, stupid.
riggs @ Dec 12th 2007 12:33PM
Its about his first years as batman, if u have read batman: year one his first "bat vehicle" was just a cadillac with a bat sign in the front (lol it was seriously corny). and lets not forget the fugly batcars of years past.
Brent @ Dec 11th 2007 7:00PM
The Dodge Tomahawk would have looked the part better.
PeakVT @ Dec 11th 2007 7:09PM
I like the flat-bottom tires, cause we all know motorcycles need less traction when cornering.
