When I think of a Sim, I think of a game which reproduces real life. I'm not sure about you, but out of the countless weekends I've spent driving on the track, I've never damaged a car, ever. Thus, not being able to run into other cars and create insane crashes doesn't bother me one bit since it's simulating real life, and in real life, i dont take an R8 or a 911 and plow it into other drivers on the track.

zamafir

Comments on

Are you serious? Forza physics are a joke. "Battle Damage" will not make the GT5 game, it's gone 4 editions without it, it doesn't need it to make it on the PS3, it will sell on cars and graphics alone, they could leave the physics model untouched and it would still be the best racing sim out there.

rndmnme

Comments on

Forza Physics arnt a joke come on. I love Forza to death and have downloaded the new content just amazing. I do wish they had incar view. I have a PS3 and have the japanese GT5 demo. Just amazing and i will get it like the other sheep but no damage in the game is very dissapointing.I loved Gt2 and GT4 but without Damage Forza is deff a great alternative and a great game in its own right.

Stop Whining more car games = more fun for all.

GDUB

Comments on

Agree that damage is far far overhyped.

The point in racing (and thus sim racing) is to not hit other cars anyway. Play it right, and the idea of damage doesn't even really come into play. If it takes damage modeling to keep you from ramming walls to get around corners faster, then I question why you're even playing a sim racer in the first place.

I agree Forza physics are not a joke. I found Forza a little squirrely in spots, but Forza 2 seems pretty damn on to me (as long as you keep your wheels on the road, the grass physics aren't good). However, as I mentioned above, the fact that Forza 2 has damage doesn't make a bit of difference to me. I play it with the damage on max and it still doesn't amount to a hill of beans because I'm playing to not hit other cars.

What Forza needs is more tracks. And I don't mean at $1.25 a pop. Taking Road America out of Forza 2 (from Forza 1) and selling it back is a goddamn joke. It might be okay if I got Forza 2 "free" in a bundle, but I paid $60 for it and $150 for the awful wheel. Coming back to me for $1.25 more is an insult.

why not the LS2LS7?

Comments on

No you don't take a real R8 into another car in real life. But in ALL the gran turismo games thus far it's much easier to use the lack of damage simulation to cheat thru the game. Forza is far far away from the Burnout series and conveys a real physics engine and 'consequence' of sorts for cheating via crashlessness

GT1 thru GT4 were all merily played by me and were promptly blown away by the Forza series. Those who dismiss it simply haven't played it or are outright sony fanboys.

Lack of coherent online multiplayer and crash emulation makes Gran Tursimo car porn and little else. Let's hope Polyphony figures this out before the full game hits shelves.

Oh and John Neff: PS3 "Graphical Powerhouse" I wouldn't say that one too loud. This video is clearly NOT in game engine, even the parts that are supposed to look like it.

And to everyone sans PS3 considering this game: Just wait until a 300 dollar GT5 included special edition bundle comes out. It will, TRUST ME(see psp).

james f.

Comments on

I love the GT3-4 series and only own Playstations.
