We are huge fans of Forza 2 here at Autoblog, so it was music to our ears when we heard that the game had released a new set of cars and an additional track earlier today. Road America makes its debut as the new venue, and there are eleven great new vehicles to drive:
- 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD-455
- 1980 Renault 5 Turbo
- 1983 Audi Sport Quattro
- 1991 BMW M3 E30
- 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 Evo Street
- 2006 Ferrari FXX
- 2007 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
- 2007 Renault Clio RenaultSport 197
- 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
- 2008 Audi R8
- 2008 Koenigsegg CCGT
The downloadable packs are available now in the Microsoft Marketplace, which can be had for 400 Microsoft points for the cars and 100 points for the track. Cash will also work - $5.00 for the cars and $1.25 for the track. You can also check out the trailer that features the new cars at Road America after the jump.
Thanks for the tip, Peter!

WOOT!!!
gg on the e30 and the TA!
I love this game, the best driving sim period IMHO.
Andrew @ Dec 7th 2007 9:52PM
Agreed! I'm stoked about the Road America and E90. The first time I spun around Road America, it was in a widebody E90.
MixiM @ Dec 8th 2007 2:06PM
Andrew you mean the E30 right, and as for Forza 2 beeing the best simulation period... Well for consoles i agree! But when compared to pc games like "Live For Speed", i feel that they have a little more work to do until it hits that kind of realism.
Jeremy @ Dec 7th 2007 8:13PM
This isn't directly related, but could anyone tell me some of the better racing games for PC? All the cool ones seem to be for consoles... thanks!
Cameron @ Dec 7th 2007 8:47PM
"Life For Speed." Look into it.
Sam @ Dec 7th 2007 8:48PM
if your looking for some really good ones, you gotta go back in time.
NFS 3: Hot Pursuit, NFS 4: High Stakes and NFS Porsche Unleashed. You can probably picked them up for about 5 cents on amazon or ebay. Also, Grand Prix Legends (came out in 1998), Live for Speed (only available online but an amazing simulator, but doesn't have real cars), and there are oodles more on the cheap. If your looking for something more..up to date, TOCA 2, which to me was blah, but realistic, also DiRT, Most Wanted (don't waste your time with Pro Street) and possibly San Andreas? Its got cars, guns, girls; what more could you want?
Liquidfire3240 @ Dec 7th 2007 9:41PM
rFactor
Live For Speed
GTR2
Nascar Racing 2003 (very hard to find)
GP Legends
RACE 07
Check out simracingworld for reviews and such.

why couldn't this just be a free update :(
oh well, maybe I'll actually pony up and buy this pack.
SoloTwo @ Dec 7th 2007 9:08PM
As for PC racing games, any console game is total crap compared to any of the Simbin simulations.
GTR2, GT Legends, and Race 07 are AMAZING simulations. As real as it gets, puts Gran Turismo and any other console racing game to shame. Also for a classic and amazingly challenging racing game for PC try Richard Burns Rally. Great fun.
Andrew @ Dec 7th 2007 9:46PM
Have you even played Forza Motorsport 2? I have owned/played all of the above sans Richard Burns with my wheel/seat/3 1080p lcd monitor setup. None compares to Forza. Obviously you haven't played it.
why not the LS2LS7? @ Dec 9th 2007 3:15AM
Andrew:
Are you a troll or a tool?
GTR2 is FAR more realistic than Forza. For starters, it supports a clutch. If you go off the track into the gravel, you have to feather the clutch to keep it from stalling.
And the 360 racing wheel is AWFUL. It is jack squat next to the Logitech G25, which works with GTR2 (and is now the official wheel of GT5 too). Not only is the wheel far better, but it has a gated shifter with push-down reverse lockout and a clutch pedal. It has far better force feedback and it doesn't spazz out like the 360 wheel does.
Andrew @ Dec 9th 2007 1:14PM
I have the G25, and I hate using the clutch. Calm down tonto.
Cameron @ Dec 7th 2007 10:18PM
Now if only my 360 would stop telling me, "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console." every time I try to boot up Forza 2 or Halo 3...
mxrz @ Dec 7th 2007 10:30PM
omg, 83' sport quattro! o/ OOOO
why not the LS2LS7? @ Dec 7th 2007 10:32PM
They want to charge me money for Road America?
Perhaps if the game hadn't been so short on tracks to start with I'd be more receptive. Instead it looks like they shorted me the first time around and now wants to come back for more money.
Andrew @ Dec 7th 2007 10:58PM
You can't cough up the $1.25 for the track?
BirdmanSTX @ Dec 7th 2007 11:47PM
Then don't buy the track. It's a choice not a requirement. If $1.25 is really gonna cause damage to your wallet, then I'd steer clear of the download...
why not the LS2LS7? @ Dec 8th 2007 1:19AM
That goes without saying.
However, Forza 2 has FEWER tracks than Forza 1. I think it's ridiculous to charge $1.25 to give me a track in Forza 2 that came with Forza 1!
