Inside Line has scooped up some exclusive, fully-naked shots of the Detroit-bound 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, and we're pleased to report that the super duper version of Caddy's excellent CTS is looking good. In the V-Series tradition, the grillework is all mesh, making the car instantly recognizable when viewed from up front. A deeper, aggressive front air dam, sill extensions, nice-looking 10-spoke wheels and a revised rear fascia are also part of the package. Larger exhaust outlets and a sizable but well-integrated hood bulge hint at the muscle the V packs underhood. The engine specifics are still being speculated, with a normally aspirated LS7 or blown 6.2L V8 being bandied about. Either way, expect around 525 horses from whatever winds up sitting under that bulge when the car's rolled out at the Detroit show next month. We'll be there, and we're pretty stoked.
Thanks to all who emailed tips!

You guys think there'll be anything between 300hp and 525hp for engine choices? Maybe the C7 425hp engine?

That does look great. I can't wait to see it on the roads.

Well it's about damn time GM!

Looks like a cheap tuner car with that skirt and ugly 07 grill.Ordinary spec 08CTS is much better looking and probably a competition to E90.M5 beater?LOL
        • 7 Years Ago
you're laughing at the idea this will be an M5 beater? I wouldn't do that. Its likely to have more hp, cost about $20k less and have FAR more torque than the high revving M5. I don't think BMW will be laughing.
More HP could make it a muscle car which I hope you dont assume an M5 is.BMW wont be laughing the day GM or any other domestic manifacturer learnes to make a car that can handle like an M5 or M3.

There is no way that is the production front clip. The base CTS blows this thing away in looks. I hope GM is waiting to show off the real front end... if not, what a major dud.

In the past, I might be a customer. But that's not really me anymore.

I will however be glad to park my 300HP CTS wagon next to one of these in the Cadillac paddock at a Speed GT race at Sears Point or Laguna Seca.

I love the new CTS. Probably the nicest vehicle GM has ever produced. Period. And one of the nicest looking vehicles on the road today.

I am definitely liking this CTS-V except for front fascia. The standard CTS looks so beautiful but the front grille/wire mesh fascia of the CTS-V looks crappy. But that is just my opinion. If I were to get one, I would see if I could have a body shop slap on the regular front end.

please tell me you are joking. CAddy has bene developing vehicles at the Ring since the FIRST CTS. Where have you been? Do you really think this car cant put up class leading numbers on the Ring? This isnt a 60s muscle car. Its amazing how out of touch with today's automotive world some people are on this site.
Actually, since the Catera Sport, which was the last Caddy to fill this niche before the CTS (Catera Touring Sedan).

Another version of an ugly car. Given the global resources of GM, they should be capable of something better than this. Cadillacs should be big ass wafting luxobarges instead of M3 wannabes. if Pontiac is GM's 'performance division' why is Cadillac doing this? GM just have no idea what they are doing anymore.
Lutz says Pontiac competes with BMW and Cadillac competes with Mercedes-Benz. Last I checked, Mercedes sold AMGs. So Caddy sells -Vs.

Damn it does sit sideways in the bay. That damn dealership lied and said it was RWD. Welp, scratch that from the list.
