An unpainted add-on rear spoiler...
How classy.
Good God...

umm, it's matte paint, not unpainted, it's similar to the 70 Challenger that they're basing it off of. I think it's a nice homage to the old car.

Remember, the name of the game in this car is retro styling. Back in the 60s and 70s, a lot of muscle cars came with very understated appearance packages, which is why you'll see Boss Mustangs with flat black rear window louvers, chin splitter, and rear spoiler, etc.
Nothing on this car is MEANT to be classy, in the Mercedes/BMW sense. It's meant to be muscular, and in keeping with the retro design theme, they're using elements from the original.
Ford did the same thing when they released the Mach 1 version of the previous generation Mustang. It had a flat black shaker scoop, just like the original. Why? They were paying homage to the heritage of the car, same as Dodge is doing here.
With that said, I like it, though I wouldn't buy one. I'm waiting for the next generation Mustang.

Paying homage to elements of a car that were just cost-cutting measures back then. Why not just slap on 14-inch steel wheels too? Lazy design all round, just like the retro Mustang. At least the Camaro looks modern.

The matte black paint is not a cost cutting measure. It a cue taken from the Trans-Am racers to prevent sun glare off of the hood and spoiler.
