Spy shots: Facelifted Mercedes SL caught at photo shoot
The current Mercedes-Benz SL is getting on in years and spy shots of a freshened model have been popping up for several months. The big grand tourer has now been spotted being prepared for a photo shoot in Dubai, meaning it's only a matter of time before its official debut. Most of the car looks pretty much unchanged, with the bulk of the action taking place at the nose. The grille has a sharper vertical crease similar to the new C-Class. The vents ahead of the front wheels and the wheels themselves indicate this is probably the latest AMG variant. Although the rear isn't visible it's likely that it too has been updated. We'll probably get our first official look at the new SL at one of the shows early in 2008, perhaps as soon as Detroit.[Source: World Car Fans]

Mercedes SLs have a strange way of looking better when a new version comes out. The last Bruno Sacco-designed SL is still captivating. I think the current SL will be the same way when an all-new SL debuts.

I agree with Goach. I'm not the biggest fan of mercedes but I find both the SL and CL elegant and captivating.

Always been fond of the SL. It only gets more beautiful with the updates. I like the new C-Class, so this new front end will more than likely be a favorite of mine as well. Cant' wait to roll over to the massive MB dealer in Hartford to see it soon.

As much as I like the SL, I even owned a V-12 previous gen one, it is another one of those cars I find utterly boring. There are just too many of them.

I see approximately fifty bazillion SLs a day. I don't even bother checking them out anymore - now I'm holding out for an AMG Black Series :)
