Factory aero for your 911 Turbo

Porsche announced today that a new factory-developed aero kit is available for the 997 Turbo. If you're placing a new car order, adding the kit will tack an additional €4,500 to the bottom line. (Existing Turbo owners can acquire the unpainted, uninstalled kit as an aftermarket item for €4,100, as well.) The added expense gets you a new lip spoiler and a new engine cover which incorporates a fixed rear wing. Developed in Porsche's wind tunnel, the kit reduces lift while leaving the car's overall drag coefficient unchanged. Plus, the subtle hint of whale tail it adds appearance-wise is plenty cool.

Looks like an identity crisis to me!
The front looks like a 911 Turbo, except uglier with too much white stuff. The back looks like a Turbo mated with a GT3...
Save $4K and get the original Turbo, or save it for Carbon Ceramic brakes.

jeez $5000+ for some skirts and a wing. I guess if you're buying a turbo you're don't really care about bang for the buck. Still a very stunning car. /drool

Except that this isn't your usual JC Whitney skirt-n-wing package designed by a liberal arts major. This is actually scientifically tested and engineered to improve performance. Unless you want to be a poseur, form follows function and I applaud them for improving high speed stability without adversely affecting the drag and thus lowering top speed/highway economy.

This reminds me of how Honda people are with any Type R, only they can distinguish and no one else really cares.

I really don't dig it, especially the fog lights in the front.

Those prices aren't too bad, but you'd get kicked in the teeth if you had to fix one. I'll stick to my crude cheap American cars haha.
