The body isn't covered in carbon fiber, it is carbon fiber, much like what you see on a carbon fiber hood/trunk/fender. You have to remember the allure of carbon fiber isn't the way it looks, it's the weight and strength properties.
Carbon fiber sans clear coat is pretty dull.
