0-60 in 2.9 sec: The production 1018-HP CCXR is here

Koenigsegg has released some full-on shots of the production CCXR -- probably a new one, and not the 1-of-a-kind CCXR crashed by Top Gear. The biofuel-powered car has a twin supercharged 4.8-liter V8, and will put out 1,018-HP at 7,200 RPM, and you'll get 740 lb-ft of torque out of it.
And if you want to break those numbers down, you'll get from the stoplight to 60 in 2.9 seconds, and the good Swedes claim you can take it past 248 MPH. However, in order to make any use of those numbers you need to first get past this one: €1,575,000, plus taxes and fees, to take it home. Check out the gallery of pics below, and check out the full specs on the car after the jump.

the wing is kinda ugly....

Wow Terence...thanks for the deep thought there.
I mean, who cares that your comment has nothing to do with the OP or the fact that the wing probably has a little more use than the one bolted to your Civic's trunk lid.
To the OP...amazing car and runs on bio-fuel. Suddenly makes needing food, clothing, housing, etc seems so secondary. Time to save some pennies.

€1,575,000? What is that, like eleventy-kajillion dollars? Question: will that E85 get you past the gas-guzzler tax?

i just don't see the appeal of this company's cars...i really love that they aren't just a design studio, using other engines and chassis and just putting designs on them, but rather making everything from the ground up. however, their cars are just ugly, i really don't like how they look. if you're talking 1+million euros, i'd go for the lamborghini reventon or the bugatti veyron before this car....

Koenigsegg is ugly? The Lamborghini Reventon is probably the ugliest supercar built in the last 20 years, and it's just an uglified Murcielago plus a few HP, but not enough to justify it's 1,000,000 pricetag.

For that kind of money I would clone myself or something...

Grand Nationals already have claim to that line, don't taint it by attaching it to yet another *yawn* supercar. '03 and '04 were the years of the chopper, '07 and '08 must be the years of the huge horsepower, ego stroking, unobtainable uber-car.

Sub-zero cool

I love Koenigsegg, but these pics make the car look like a block of wood. And the color is depressing.
More horsepower than the Veyron but 0-60 in only 2.9? Sounds like it needs AWD.

although it looks awesome, it looks a lot like something out of a ridge racer videogame.

Can someone tell me the purpose of a twin supercharger? I can understand a twin turbocharger, but I don't know what the purpose is for a twin supercharger.

never mind. I read on the internet that it is a twin-screw supercharger. That's a big difference, autoblog. Twin superchargers and twin-screw superchargers are two different things. But, my original question still stands, because I have seen twin centrifugal superchargers, and I've been wondering what purpose does that serve.
Andrew 6:11PM (11/26/2007)
No, they're running two centrifugal superchargers, not one twin-screw. They're probably running one per bank for the bearings' sake.

Shame no ones gonna buy it since the fuel's not that widely available yet. I hope theyre gonna make one that runs on normal gas too, because thats a fantastic looking machine.
