If it were a dessert, it would be Death By Chocolate. Since it's Gran Turismo 5, we're going to call it Death By Motorized Magnitude. Word is the full game will come with 900 cars -- or as The Count would say on Sesame Street, "Count dem, 900 cars, ha ha ha!" And one of those cars will be the Ford GT LM edition. Which could really count as five or six cars by itself, it's so bloody tasty.
The GT Prologue Demo will come with a mere 30 cars, but there are some tarmac toasters in there, one of them being the GT LM, as well as a smattering of other really fast but non-race cars. There's also a BMW 135i Coupe, convenient in case you wish to test it out on CG twisties before spending a heap of your very real money on the genuine article. As for tracks, word is that the Prologue could also add either Laguna Seca, Infineon, or (mouth ... watering ... must ... concentrate) the 'Ring. We sign up where?

GT5 is the only reason I'll even consider buying a PS3.

amen!
SRT @ Nov 19th 2007 2:24PM
Amen! I'll most likely purchase a PS3 for the same reason and once I have completed the game sell it to the highest bidder.
naggs @ Nov 19th 2007 3:43PM
absolutly the only reason to be intrested in the consol
stefan @ Nov 19th 2007 2:25PM
This can't be true just 30 cars PD said that it would be around the 40.
nissanfreak87 @ Nov 19th 2007 2:26PM
This game just might make me buy a PS3, or just live in one of my friends' living rooms
Tsunami Racer @ Nov 19th 2007 2:26PM
how much are PS3's running these days? i hear it's worth it just for this game and for the blue-ray disc player.
Chaz @ Nov 19th 2007 2:30PM
That's true, the PS3 (now $399 with a 40gb HD, $499 with an 80gb) is currently the least expensive Blu-Ray player on the market. That's a good basis to buy it too, but yeah, I too will be getting it for GT5.
Ubizzle @ Nov 19th 2007 2:33PM
I've just bought a PS3, almost entirely for this game. When will the demo be released in the UK, does anyone know?
Jackattak @ Nov 19th 2007 3:22PM
The GT franchise is the only reason I bought a PS2 back in the day and it's the only reason I'll buy a PS3, for sure.
Well, that and Blu-Ray (if Blu-Ray becomes the dominant technology, that is).
zamafir @ Nov 19th 2007 3:08PM
Just log in via a japanese account and download the limited demo now.
why not the LS2LS7? @ Nov 19th 2007 5:54PM
I believe GT5 Prologue Demo has been confirmed in Japan and EU, but not in US yet. Although everyone expects we'll get it in the US.
I think technically even GT5 Prologue isn't confirmed in the US yet.
DCragtop @ Nov 19th 2007 2:38PM
I'm confused by this article because this car is already in the GT4 game. Not to mention the concept, production and 60's Shell versions of the GT40, errr. FORD GT. So am I missing the point of this story? And yes, I too am waiting on this game before purchasing a PS3. In fact, I only have PS's because of the GT series. Odd actually.
Spankee @ Nov 19th 2007 2:59PM
Not that odd, GT and Tony Hawk Pro Skater are the reasons I upgrade PlayStations. I have a friend who upgrades because of Madden.

Yep, another noob autoblog writer today (for the super best friends F1 comment)
Tony A. Emond @ Nov 19th 2007 3:07PM
In GT4 if you put a wing on the Ford GT it literally becomes undriveable. I hope that's not the case in GT5!
Sam @ Nov 19th 2007 3:07PM
900 cars
50 different skylines
40 different imprezas
40 different evos
1 honda odyssey
every toyota ever made (400)
1 Ford Model T
1 Ford Model A
etc.
ferrarimanf355 @ Nov 19th 2007 3:36PM
My thoughts exactly. GT may have 900 cars, but how many of them are actually fun to drive? I'll take Forza 2's more focused list than have to unlock ANOTHER Skyline...
