Missed out on buying an Audi R8? You have one more shot
Neiman Marcus has its Christmas special holiday catalog offerings, and now Bergdorf Goodman (part of the Neiman Marcus Group) has something special of its own for the Xmas season: a specially-designed Audi R8 for auction.The winner of the phone-in sealed bid auction will get to kit out an R8 with the help of architect and interior designer Tony Chi, who has designed the Park Hyatt in Shanghai and the MGM Grand's Skylofts in Las Vegas. The proceeds from the auction will be donated to the charity of the winner's choice. Plus, the owner gets in early on the R8 queue, as well as getting to put together an R8 that no one else in the world has. Sounds like everyone wins.

Proceeds From Auction Will Be Donated to a Charity of the Winner's Choice
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Audi of America today announced it will auction an exclusively designed 2008 Audi R8 as a part of Bergdorf Goodman's 2007 Holiday catalogue. Recipients of Bergdorf's Holiday Gift Book will have the opportunity to participate in a telephone sealed bid auction beginning in early December. The highest bidder will collaborate with famed architect and interior designer Tony Chi to customize their own Audi R8 utilizing the Audi Exclusive color palette.
The winner of the auction will have the opportunity to donate the proceeds to a charity of their choice. Audi of America will make the donation to that organization on the winner's behalf.

The Audi R8 which will be available for sale in the U.S. is the first mid-engine sports car Audi has ever produced. One was just sold for $200k from the Audi dealer in L.A. I think sticker was only $120k or so. I bet the bidding goes to $300k for this one. It's the car of the year in Europe and it looks outrageous coming down the road.

Yeah the dealer markup and auction value for these cars is going to be insane, and rightfully so...looks like the R8 is an amazing machine.

This would be a great deal for someone with a lot of money...I mean all the proceeds go to the charity of the winners choice...so if you donate that much anyways, well you get yourself a free car
