LA 2007: 2008 Dodge Viper ACR Live Shots
click above image for more live shots of the 2008 Dodge Viper ACR
Seeing the 2008 Dodge Viper ACR in person makes you wonder even more how this thing is legal to drive on public streets. The carbon fiber front spoiler and winglets have more of a visual effect up close, and the rear wing would be absolutely ridiculous if it weren't functional... but it is. The asymmetrical paint scheme back up the race car look even more, although it looks a little goofy from straight on. We've added another 18 live shots to the 2008 Viper ACR's gallery for you to closely inspect the car, as well.

It is a race car that you can buy right from the factory. What a bunch of idiots! People who buy cars like that RACE tehm in SCCA and other places. Why did I have to explain that to you? Chrysler has sold lots of cars like that to the ppeople who want a good race car cheap. Compare a Viper to some of the other race cars and you will know what I am talking about. And to top it off, the Viper is usually faster than the more expensive ones!

The Viper is not about mainstream and the ACR is a track car

Mine will arrive in April or May and I will be looking for a ZR1 at the local track. This car is the fastest track car ever produced by Detroit. I can't wait to get some hot laps in.

I'm sure this thing goes like a bat out of hell, but could someone tell me who would want to drive this joke around the streets?
Just shows how messed-up Chrysler is when it is putting its money on a piece of crap like this instead of must-have, mainstream vehicles that 99.9999% of the population would buy.

Who would want to drive one of these on the streets? The same type of people who would want a Porsche GT3 RS, or 430 Scuderia. In other words, people who want one hell of a fast car, and not have to have an extra track car, to take advantage of the local road courses and track events.

I forget what it's called, but you know, the car you test drive at the dealership....but then wind up with something much less...kinda kinda like someone will test drive a vette and leave with a malibu...

Who would want to drive it on the streets?
Who WOULDN'T is the better question. Round them up, find out if any of them have ANY cars that are even SEMI-Capable, and take away their keys.

Pretty good!
Pretty, pretty, pretty good!

I'd drive it if I had the spare change to blow on such a toy. It's a real race-car that has an incredible racing heritage. Multiple Class wins at Le Mans, Outright Win at 24 Hours of Daytona and many other wins and World Championships around the world. Even the mighty Nissan GT-R doesn't have the racing pedigree of the Viper.
Sure, it's a blunt instrument, but it never pretended to be anything else, Not to mention, the styling still kicks ass after all these years.

If Dodge had a drive-thru:
"Yeah, um... I'll have a Viper, please."
"You want regular, or extra badass on that Viper?"
"Extra badass, please."

Mclaren, Ferrari, Porsche, Corvettes, Nissan GT-R and Vipers Oh my...which car company produces the fastest street legal cars today...wow, very good question??? perhaps, the new 2008 Dodge Viper ACR can answer that.
The new 2008 Dodge Viper ACR looks very sexy-beautiful design shapes/lines. Speeding tickets waiting to happen...save it for the tracks.
Hmmm...Interesting. I wonder if today's tire manufacter's recycle old tires...to produce new byproducts???

At least it can be bought new.
Try buying a new Ferrari if you don't own one.
Well, anything other than a 612 Scag. Probably they'll discount those....

This paint scheme hearkens back to the Mopar muscle era.
This is just the beginning....when the Challenger and Camaro come out, all hell is gonna break loose.
Looking forward to my Vitamin C Challenger with the Mopar hockey stripes!!!
