Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 Roadster arrives

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 unveiled last September at the Frankfurt Motor Show will be joined by this roadster. The N400 Roadster was actually announced at the same time as the Coupe, but apparently Aston Martin's creative dept. hadn't gotten around to lopping off the Coupe's roof in Photoshop yet (compare these two pics and you'll see what we mean). The pair are being built to commemorate Aston Martin's participation in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, and if you look closely you'll see a map of the track next to the 'Vantage' badge.
Like its closed coupe brother, the N400 Roadster features an upgraded version of the Vantage V8's 4.3L engine producing 400 HP and 309 lb-ft of torque. That's a full 20 horsepower more than what's included in a standard Vantage V8 thanks to a thorough overhaul of the engine's internal components and the addition of a freer flowing exhaust and air intake. Other N400 enhancements include a Sport Pack that dials down the suspension for sharper handling, as well as new side sills, trunk lid, clear rear lamp lenses, mesh for the side strakes and a "bright finish grille".
It's being reported that Aston Martin will only build 240 actual examples of the car, so get in line early.

As soon as my dealer confirms that it will come to the U.S. I am getting a coupe. I love the DB9 SP wheels on the V8, it gives it a much meaner stance.....This is why I will always be a costumer to Aston Martin, they can't do anything wrong. Wait till you guys see the Vantage RS.

Remind me of what the Camaro would have morphed into from the 2002 model had it not been axed.

you have to be kidding.
Likening one of the most gorgeous sporting car designs in decades, with a distinctly british flair, to a Camaro?
You deserve to have your design critique privileges revoked. Or your eyesight checked. Or both. Obviously you can't tell one two-door car from another.
Aside from a general rakishness of a front engined rear drive car, and having two doors, this car's design is completely different than a Camaro of any year, theoretical or not.

I never get tired of Aston Martin's design - it's perfection in its finest form.
But what the hell made them put hideously ugly clear taillights on the newer models? WHY?!?!?!?

Best. Orange. Ever.
I'm just amazed how well the gray rear lights work out on the car, and that the Orange actually looks decent - and of course, re-amazed by this awesome design.

putting clear lights on cars should be left to japanese...this thing spoils the look of aston...for more check this http://carnoise.blogspot.com/2007/11/aston-martin-v8-vantage-n400-roadster.html

The orange is very similar to the orange BMW was using on the 1-series (you can see a pic at http://www.1seriesonline.com)

Aston's normally have the middle section of the rear lights matched to the body colour. Which makes me assume that this picture is just a photochop, or perhaps just the colour...
