SEMA 2007: Neff takes the Continental Tire XBOX Challenge
The SEMA show is a labor of love in that it takes a lot of hard work to cover it properly, but there are few places on earth we'd rather be. While we often spend 10-12 hours on the show floor looking for the best (and worst) vehicles to post on Autoblog, sometimes we also get the chance to have a little fun.
Across from the press room was a hidden cove with two plasma monitors attached to a pair of XBOX 360s. Continental Tire was hosting an XBOX Challenge, and Forza Motorsport 2 was the chosen battlefield. Our own John Neff typically spends his free time enjoying his console of choice, and Forza 2 is often his disc of choice. Our Editor in Chief jumped at the chance to compete for such prizes as an iPod and a set of high-end Kicker speakers, and we were there to tape the results. Click play to watch the video above, and then hit the jump to see whether John walked away with a prize.
RESULTS: Although John walked away from the XBOX Challenge with a .35 lead over all competitors so far that day, others came in later and wiped Mr. Neff from the leader board. It looks like more time on the Las Vegas track is needed if Neff wants to take the checkered flag.

thats PGR3 guys. which is an ARCADE game, not simulation (a la Forza 2)
Sam @ Nov 4th 2007 2:28PM
Yeah, definitely. You know why, though? Because Forza has no Vegas, and also is a little older, and thus, more even a playing field.

If anyone wants to addme, foo2rama on live, PGR3/4 and Forza II whore...

Sam @ Nov 4th 2007 2:49PM
dude, i could pwn you with my Carrera RS
best car in forza 2.
Fooman @ Nov 4th 2007 7:12PM
Seen any 240z in online racing s class nope? Go look at the records...
This is a little bit of a stealth car, most of the guys running for records are not taking them out online so they are a little under the radar. Yes the RS is a killer car though.

Insert "Ditch that Oldsmobile and those video games, and get a real car" joke here.

Are you sure that's not PGR4?
Sam @ Nov 4th 2007 3:14PM
It's 3. PGR 4 has a red theme and different menus. also, would you expect them to drop $60 on a new game? You can pick up PGR3 for $20 on amazon.

You definitely are a bunch of car guys and/or video game nerds. 7 comments so far and not a single one about the GIRL in the video who was, you know, well above decent.
Kudos. I think.
Apu @ Nov 4th 2007 6:07PM
Well, that's assuming we watched the video in the first place.
k @ Nov 5th 2007 12:59AM
The Autoblog guys completely ruined there chances with that girl by acting so nerdy.
