The 2007 Tokyo Motor Show ended last week, but today we're cleaning out our closet of yet-to-be published posts from this biggest of biannual Japanese auto shows.

Remember the Suzuki Samurai, the lightweight 4x4 much maligned for being just as likely to topple over as any other Jeep of its day? Well, it's alive and well and being sold throughout the world as the Jimny. The X-Head just might be its future and we can only hope that Suzuki's notoriously tight bean counters do not savage the functional yet oh so cool interior too badly. Who knows, they may even bring it Stateside. Yeah, right.
Check out our original post on the Suzuki X-Head here and view live pics from last week's Tokyo Motor Show in the gallery below.

Wow. That's an awesome Tonka Transformer truck. I like it!
LBuzzer @ Nov 2nd 2007 9:15AM
I still love this truck.
Why?
It's a TRUCK, and doesn't try to pose as anything else - a single purpose vehicle with a clear focus on what it's suppose to be.
Suzuki, build this as a commercial vehicle, and rake in the cash.

If they could bring this to market maintaining much of the design I would buy it.
Clearly, they would need to add side mirrors and the LED front lights are likely too expensive, but the vehicle will have its niche to itself. there is nothing else like it on the market.

Now that's pretty funky!

Yikes! It looks like a ROBOTIC SPACE PIG.

Someone needs to start carrying around a golf flag for reference. How big is this thing? Jimny size? Wrangler size? Unimog size??? If it were about Wrangler size and had a decent payload (say 2000#), it could make an awesome service vehicle.

Speaking of UNIMOG's...
I am not a "truck guy" at all, but boy are UNIMOG's AWSOME!
I still think it looks like an interstellar garbage trunk

Until you are behind the wheel of one. The 700 series Pinzgauer is a far better truck.
Geoff Gibson @ Nov 2nd 2007 7:38PM
Best truck EVER!
Seriously the small truck market is sinking much to the dismay of people (primarily younger men and women) who like trucks but don't want/need a larger one. This could be a very fun vehicle for such people. . .

I'm sure there would be tons of guys that would look down at this because of it's size. I love it. The crys of single cab haters and big gulp mega size lovers would be pretty strong im guessing. If the bed is big enough to hold a normal size 4 wheeler I'd be loving it.
