SEMA Wheels: That's one heck of a fat lip
That's an 11-inch lip on these wheels! These rims from Royalty Luxury Alloys are called the Masterpiece and according to the signage, they feature the world's first 11-inch lip. The look is a bit deceiving, because the spokes are set in the middle, but bow far back into the rim to create the world's only 11-inch lip. Custom rims are all about getting noticed, so if deep lips are your thing, it looks like you'll now have to crank it up to 11 to stand out from the crowd.

I don't understand how this would work as lipspace should be a function of backspacing on the wheel and that amount is determined by the car and camber settings. Plus this probblay don't help unsprung weight much.

Maybe a slight profile shot could have helped see the lip.

That is no 11" lip. They just made the wheel without the well and chromed the whole wheel. Without the well the wheel is actually weaker. Anyways, you measure from the wheel face forward. Looks more like a 4-5" lip to me. They should also look at some wheels made by MHT (Foose line) because it's been already done.

Assuming that the benefit of an 11" lip is that it pushes the wheel outward due to backspacing, couldn't you do the exact same thing with a wheel spacer? Based on these pics, an 11" lip certainly doesn't mean deep dish rims.

Ok. What about pro street widths? theyre lips are like 11 in. You take a wheel made for the new Mickey Thompson Sportsman SR's they measure 20x15, 4 in. backspacing, thats an 11 inch lip, isnt it?
