We can't seem to find much information on this Audi R8 modified by APR, but we all agree that it's a real looker. We spotted it at Michelin's supercar display (more on that later), and it immediately stood out among the rest. APR's web site doesn't currently list any upgrade for the R8, and the Michelin media kit, although very informative about Michelin's tire lineup, didn't provide any information as well. If we had to guess, we'd say the engine's ECU has been massaged by APR for a few extra horsepower. Behind the custom wheels appears to be a set of upgraded Brembo brakes with drilled rotors and the APR logo on the caliper. The two-tone paint scheme actually makes the R8 look better than it already did. Check out the gallery for high resolution R8 tunage.

I like what they've done to the "sideburns" but the hood and roof I think is disagreeable
Scotty @ Nov 1st 2007 11:20AM
I agree with you, not down with the hood. Maybe if we had some technical info I could overlook it... :)
Zane @ Nov 1st 2007 9:59AM
Wow! Now that is a real show stopper! But as John just mentioned, I don't really dig those four Audi lines.

*drools*

sick Sick Sick. now, where's the turbo kit apr? hmm? hmm?
mxrz @ Nov 1st 2007 10:54AM
APR developing a turbo kit for the 4.2 V8? Highly unlikely. MTM will have a supercharger, that's good enough, and MTM > APR.
zamafir @ Nov 1st 2007 12:13PM
it was actually a facetious comment, though if you talk to APR they’re not of the same understanding, something about the old-school method of physically needing to remove ECU being less then preferred. At least last I talked to their engineers on the MTM vs APR topic two years ago

this is the first SEMA-fied car I like. Ill be so glad when AB stops taking pics of decent cars being destroyed by SEMA. but i like this one so, good job.
btw, does the R8 share a platform with the bugatti veyron? do they have anything in common besides both being owned by VW?
testa di cazzo @ Nov 1st 2007 10:45AM
not really - it doesn't really share much with any one specific VWAG car... it has a lot of parts that come from sister companies (engine - RS4, transmission - lambo, etc.) but in itself it is a new platform and car i believe...
John P. @ Nov 1st 2007 10:17AM
It looks like it's trying to go for that Veyron look. This one looks way better than the Veyron though, thankfully.
I like it. It's more crispy. NICE!
mk @ Nov 1st 2007 11:20AM
It is platform related to the Lamborghini Gallardo
I have always wondered what an R8 would look like with a blacked out roof. I like it, but I might have left the hood painted body color. Some pictures of the back end of the car might have been cool, too.
The blacked out front lower intakes do look good, and I like the bit of a splitter under the front air dam.
I might have also disassembled the headlights, and painted the trim surrounds inside the headlight housing black, as well.(leave the actual reflectors and the ring around the projector as chrome, and the lens un-tinted.) Then the headlights might just blend right into the intakes, and look pretty darn sinister.
I like the intake edges behind the doors, too. I wonder what an R8 would look like with body-colored 'blades,' with the quarter-window area blacked out. (might actually make it look like a normal car... not sure if that is a good or bad idea. It might take away some character.)
There are better wheel choices out there, (BBS CH, and Audi's own split-7 spoke wheels come to mind...) and other than the paint job design that I would do slightly differently, this is a nice looking car!

You should have been a car designer..
IMO The Car looks sweet and i wouldnt change anything.. I dont mind the stripes on the hood at all..
and BTW..the lip spoiler is HOT
nissanfreak87 @ Nov 1st 2007 11:25AM
I'm still waiting to see a 100% carbon bodied R8, that would be the hottest thing on 4 wheels, even though the R8 above is pretty sick as well
moe @ Nov 1st 2007 11:33AM
the nicest r8 i have ever seen..
moe @ Nov 1st 2007 11:37AM
p.s. i like how they've covered up the LEDS on those headlights.. .
osnofla @ Nov 1st 2007 12:16PM
those wheels are sick

Put on a nice tailored suit and Quick...throw me the keys to the new Audi R8... It's a true babe magnet...heehe.
I think Audi's new R8 is welcomed in any stables around the globe. I believe Audi's new R8 has many advance features; nice beautifully shaped lines, timeless (interior-exterior) designs, racing suspension-brakes-wheels etc.
Did the Audi salesman say supermodels come with or without the package...heehe, just kiddin. Beautiful R8...
JG @ Nov 5th 2007 11:19AM
When will the V10 R8 be available? That's pretty much what I'm waiting on to make my purchase.
