You feelin' lucky, punk? Don't even think about trying your luck in London with this Caparo T1 police car on the prowl. It will run you down faster than a cheetah does a gazelle, that is, if it doesn't burst into flames first. Top Gear reports that the car will obviously not be pressed into service, but it's a fun idea and one of the hottest cruisers we've ever come across. Produced in conjunction with the London Metropolitan Police and Caparo, the T1 cruiser will be display this week at the MPH '07 Show in jolly old England, at Earls Court in London to be specific.

Just get your escape route to involve going over a lot of speed bumps, they'll be screwed!
Cly @ Oct 31st 2007 12:32PM
Some wheel-to-wheel actions and it'll be over for the cop.

Uh, I'll take my 1988 Bronco II to beat this joke of a cop car. When he bottoms out I'll be heading off road.
Andrew @ Oct 31st 2007 4:37PM
Yeah, I would like to see you do that in London :) hehe

I think that would cause accidents...people would turn to look and WHAM...rear-end the car in front of them.

i would really hope that they would find a better way to incorporate the lights into the car.

Holy hell!

Unless the london police force includeds Jackie Stewart, Schumacher, or other retired world champs, I'd bet they'll crash that thing before they can shift into 2nd.
Considering the average cop driving skill, a 1000hp/ton track car with 3g cornering potential is way, way, way out of their abilities. Most cops would have trouble with a LS1 Camaro police car or Hemi Charger.

Unlike the US police are actually pretty well trained and educated here in Europe. Not putting people down or anything just pointing out that they get more training here. Also the way we organize our police is very different - far more emphasis on *national* police forces here. The traffic police using vehicles like this are actually trained specifically for this task by professionals.

Here in the U.S. there is really no use for a high performance car because if things get really hairy they just use helicopters. Thats why the Crown Vic is still such a viable car, it can carry the 2 cops, the semi-auto rifles and shotguns along with having the room for an officer to wear their body armor while working with the helicopter.

ok, u caught me. now put me in the back and take me to jail. mwahahahaha! better yet, ram my car off the road! hahahaha
dean @ Oct 31st 2007 3:29PM
Since it's London, I'd be afraid. If it were here in America, they would still follow me at a safe 50-100 yards back going 55 mph the whole way. Yeah! Thats how we roll in the Great States! No ramming like in England!
theSAWzall @ Oct 31st 2007 4:06PM
With the background on the picture, it makes me think this would be a Batmobile. The thing looks like it could take off.
Toy Yoda @ Oct 31st 2007 5:14PM
Remember the Gallardo that was Photoshopped to look like a Cop car. This has to be the same thing but on a different car. How do you plan to transport suspect in that thing. Otherwise, I suppose you can use it for issuing speeding tickets.
Namir @ Oct 31st 2007 7:31PM
Speeders are screwed! And so are the fuzz! because they are going to be engulfed in flames....
