SEMA 2007: 50 Cent and Unique Autosports get In da G8

click above image for more high-res pics of 50 Cent's Pontiac G8
50 Cent is all about the Pontiac G8. His latest endeavor with the import from Oz is a group effort with Unique Autosports to create the 500-hp black-striped red number you see above. That's right, this G8 has got 500 horsepower (or more) since it uses an LSX 427 and other GM parts from the LS7 in the Corvette Z06. Inside, the car gets red leather seats and matching armrests on the doors, as well as an 800-watt JBL sound system. This means you can go really fast and be really loud, just like 50 Cent himself. And even when the car is parked, everyone will know who your favorite rapper is, as the "50 Cent" fender badges won't let you forget. You can check out video from Fast Lane Daily if you follow the jump, or take a stroll through the gallery of hi-res pics below.

How on Earth did he get that car if Pontiac haven’t released it for sale?
If he imported and converted a Commodore, then where did he get the Pontiac nose?????

GM and chrysler like to suck up to rappers because the are the only people left that find there cars cool.
50 had a G8 in his clip 2 months ago and he even had the 300C before it was out.

stefan,
You wrote "GM and chrysler like to suck up to rappers because the are the only people left that find there cars cool."
should be:

I would rather have the 'vette.

I dont know why rappers think they can design cars, most of them have no taste they only have dollars. But they have no taste. The cars may look good in the hood but what about Beverly Hills? I dont think any high end customer with any taste would be caught dead in some of these cars.

I don't care where you're from, that car looks good. Also, every rapper isn't from the "hood".

That car does look good but that fact is that no rich person would buy it over a Benz or a Bimmer or more likely a Rolls/Bentley. Oh, and the hood thing, true not all rappers are from the hood but most rappers have horrible rhyming skills and are pathetic wanksta's because they never came from the hood. Real, good gangsta rap is hard to find these days.

The tri-coat orange G8 show car GM has at SEMA is a million times better looking than what Fitty and Unique came up with, no surprise I guess.
The tri-coat orange is so deep, lusty and beautiful GM has to offer it for the car. It also has orange interior accents from the Commodore, shame we don't get the choice here in the States.

Wow, looks like a G8 with rapper bling rims. Lots of thought I see.
lol, more power to him since he lost to KW on the album sales. The interview with FLD was not bad, he kinda reminded me of a young funkmaster--a bit humble, a bit flashy, a bit comic, so there's hope.

Going by the sheer and obvious lack of interest by SEMA attendees in this 50 cent version of an otherwise awesome car, it appears I am not alone in opining that 50 cent is a tasteless maggot (with a great marketing dept).

I like the G8.
But what is the point of this?
Red paint. Good, probably stock.
Tinted windows, not bad.
Black stripe. Stupid, since it changes width erratically over the whole car, and looks like an afterthought.
Tinted lights. whoopie.... Illegal, and dangerous, as well. Show car bling, not applicable to anywhere else.
Dubs. Boring. get some real sport sedan wheels on there. BBS. Something.
427 engine. Nice touch. Probably do-able out of the GM Performance catalog.
All in all, a decent garage can do something as nice or nicer than this, without the attempt at black bling. Not gathering the attention because it isn't really set apart from a stock G8 GT, aside from the engine in the engine bay, which probably doesn't even look any different... (take their word for the displacement increase...)
