SEMA 2007 VIDEO: Cadillac CTS Sport concept in the flesh
While at SEMA, we took a few minutes to talk with GM Specialty Vehicle manager Doug Schumacker about the Cadillac CTS Sport concept. Doug also spoke about an upcoming CTS coupe and wagon, and hinted that many of the cosmetic changes to the Sport concept could make production. CTS-V anyone? Click on the video above to view the three-minute clip – it's worth a look.

wow, looks awesome. but damn, that guy says 'uh' wayyy too much.
LloydChiro @ Oct 31st 2007 11:07AM
Agreed on the uhs and ahs. GM needs to send their spokemen to Toastmasters. Look at the guy in the Pontiac Solstice video; not very eloquent.

For those of us who can't watch a video right now, what did he say about the wagon and the coupe? Will the wagon ever hit the US shores or will it be for the overseas market?
mk @ Oct 30th 2007 6:02PM
he seemed to say that both the wagon and coupe would be coming, and considering the audience and the location (Las Vegas, American automotive press) I think it is a safe bet that they are both coming to the US market, along with more options/trim lines.
This CTS 'sport' is supposedly different than what is coming as the CTS-V, which will be shown in January, (NAIAS, likely) so it should be interesting.
Most of the stuff on this car is supposedly going to be available as a package, or aftermarket GM parts...

Cool video. It sure sounds like cadallic has it's act together.......at least regarding the CTS.
I like just about everything regarding thr CTS. If it was up to me the car would have split the difference in size between the 3 series & the C class.
naggs @ Oct 30th 2007 6:45PM
for gods sake, let the engineers pick the size of the wheel!!! let the bling tastic dubs be offered at the dealership
Dave @ Oct 30th 2007 6:49PM
Good call.
AfterGasoline @ Oct 30th 2007 7:25PM
Yes, I agree, I am not a fan of those wheels, or the yellow brake calipers. It looks tacky with those. But, I am glad to see they are bringing out lots of options; it will be nice to be able to personalize if you so choose.

Exactly what I was thinking when he said they're always arm-wrestling with the engineers over the size of the wheels; the engineers favor smaller wheels to reduce unsprung weight.
That's because the engineers aren't concerned with how "pimp" the car looks; they want the wheels that'll make the car go faster and work better!
TriShield @ Oct 30th 2007 8:06PM
Looks awful, but at least the only "production" part of it is good. The Recaro seats.
The Other Bob @ Oct 31st 2007 1:14AM
I think the monotone look makes the car look a little too much like the first generation model.
Robert Ryan @ Oct 31st 2007 5:39AM
Hmmm Station Wagon ? The Holden Sportswagon? That Cadillac looked to much like it was influenced by HSV here.
k.w.a @ Oct 31st 2007 8:31AM
....lose the yellow calipers and we'll talk
LloydChiro @ Oct 31st 2007 11:09AM
I would like a CTS-V wagon. Will they call it the CTS-VW?
Regardless , I'm going to seriously consider a CTS-V in whatever body style they produce.
LloydChiro @ Oct 31st 2007 11:11AM
Say word.
It would be a shame to have to swap the stock 22's for something more reasonable like 18's.
