Photos: Nissan GT-R 500 at Suzuka
We announced earlier that Nissan would be running the GT-R in the GT500 class of the SUPER GT series in Japan for 2008. At that time, we didn't have any photos for you, but a few (five, actually) have finally surfaced of the race car testing at Suzuka. The widened body, massive rear wing, and heavily vented hood make it that much meaner looking than the street version. Click the image above or select an image below to view the gallery.

Wow, thats cool. The rear end definitely looks like the R34 based GT cars but the front looks like the current 350Z based GT cars.

That thing is absolutely ugly, looks like a pug faced version of the GTR that went on the McDonald's diet. I liked the 350Z GT500 car much better.

One of the guys in the Cobalt SS TC thread on gminsideline had a Malibu Maxx. He had a graphic all worked up for it to put in his sigline.

It is indeed purposeful, but it makes the Calsonic R32s and R34s from back in the day look that much more charming. But this is Super GT, function takes the front seat. (aerodynamics gone wild)

Holy fooking hell. That's what a race car should look like: a science experiment gone horribly wrong. And. It. Is. PISSED.

Crap, it's typical JGTC, it's a tube frame with CF over it. I was kinda hoping it bore more resemblance to the street car, because this it a bit over the top to pass ALMS muster. If it stays like this, it'll take an IMSA exemption to get it into ALMS, and that means it can't go to Le Mans in 2009.
