Hyundai just sent us these first official renderings of its Concept Genesis Coupe, a stylized and exaggerated version of a production rear-wheel-drive coupe that's on the way. The actual Concept Genesis Coupe will makes its first public appearance at the LA Auto Show in a couple of weeks, and we'll be on hand to capture the debut. While no other information about the coupe concept or the forthcoming production version was given, we're betting the 3.8L V6 will be the top shelf engine, though we're still holding out hope for a proper V8. Tell us what you think of the concept's design in the comments, as we're sure Hyundai is listening.

I love it!
Other than that stupid kink in the bottom of the rear window... Get rid of that and this thing is a winner.

i think that little drop is to help with visability. helps get rid of the blind spot.
looks great hyundai, looks like the Z is in trouble.

pretty cool! would be awesome with a V8, but strong (flat-)6 would be great too. but still, an awesome design rendering. it would be nice if they actually make it like this. give a few cars a bit to think about.

The design looks great! Hopefully it'll look similar in real life.
I don't think a V8 is necessary unless this thing is seriously competing against an M3 or something similar. V6 seems plenty, especially considering fuel prices.
This should be a blast for the tuner market.

Please let the aggressive styling make it to production! The rear looks amazing...

I agree, the rear is really nice. Nice all the way around in fact. The fact that its G35/37ish isn't a bad thing.
Please keep the headlamp treatment. It looked good on the Genesis sedan and it looks good here too. I like the sketch, but hopefully Hyundai will go with a engine bonnet that is the same color as the rest of the car. And maybe some kind of red a la Torro Corsa instead of orange.

Oh so this is what you get when you put a Lexus IS front on a G37! I was wondering...

Since it looks like its one of those panoramic-style roofs, i'm wondering whether they'll keep it like that or maybe put in a carbon-fibre roof like on the M3.
It looks great anyhow, they shouldn't change a thing!

Let me just say that this is just pure hotness. If they make it, I'll take it.

seeing as it's debuting in a couple weeks, I doubt it's a fictional product

seriously, that is more important than the power or even the curb weight
it better be an option

Hard to pass judgement with such an exaggerated rendering but if they can preserve those basic lines for the real deal it'll rock. About time a proper competitor to the 350Z showed up, it's a great car but is in dire need of a rear end re-style.
