NOTE: the haters will begin soon, but they will say some stupid stuff without doing any research, like hey the time doesnt line up right, and they dont do it correctly.
i would like to say stfu first because they dont know what they are talking about.
That is how the very vast majority of laptimes are calculated, only during a closed-session lap, usually for a sporting event, can you get the full uninterupted 20.832 km on Nordschleife. Other times drivers are restricted from going full-speed past T13 due to safety concerns of people exiting the pitlane.
magazine scan from sport auto showing the 997 turbo being timed this way.
second of all if it's 100-150 ft which is 46m max, it won't take 6-8 seconds to cover it, considering it does a standing 400m in 11.7 seconds.
2 seconds AT most considering it is already going at full chat
this is the official way of timing laps at the nurbugring to provide a safe access to the old entrance/exit there. Thus, Sportauto Supertests cover only about 20.6 km, which in average yields a 7 s shorter lap time compared to a full lap.
In the mean time, here is a scan of Germany's Sport Auto magazine, which conducts its "Super Tests" using only 20.6km as can be seen on the top right corner:

Furthermore, please read the following article on wikipedia:

Most people know this is how "official" Nurburgring laps are timed, I don't think I've seen any in the past 5 years that were 100% complete laps, something that basically doesn't happen outside of motorsport events where obviously the entire track has to be lapped in order to race. Pagani's new Zonda F lap was done like this as well for example, are they a pathetic company?
Annother argument most say is how does a 3800lbs car get these fast times....well how the hell does this car,
2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series
Length × Width × Height in : 183.4 × 72.2 × 53.8
Weight lb (kg) : 3880 (1760)
and its time at the ring is 7:36 --- 162.631 km/h

get such fast times? its heavier than a gt-r.
