Knight Rider TV revamp gets a director, script details emerge
When we told you that NBC was moving forward with a modern take on Knight Rider, speculation at the time was that executive producer Doug Liman would also take the reins as director. Turns out, that's not the case. The director of the pilot is Steve Shill, an industry veteran whose long list of directing credits includes episodes of The Sporanos, Law & Order, Big Love, Dexter, Deadwood and many, many more big-time shows. AICN correspondent Merrick thinks that Shill is a good pick for Knight Rider, and he also happens to have read the script! We'll let you choose whether or not you want to read more details, but we will say that the new show takes place in the same Knight Rider universe as the original, and is actually a continuation of sorts, instead of a re-imagining in the vein of shows like Battlestar Galactica and the (horrible) new Bionic Woman. If you want to know more about the new KR storyline, you can read Merrick's review of the script (warning: spoilers) here.

To think that I had thought television had hit rock bottom with what is currently already on. Just goes to show that no matter how awful it gets....it will get worse.

Actually, I read the script and it sounds like it would be a pretty neat show. I like the use of technology.
I hope they use a black 2009 Camaro as K.I.T.T.

*SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE WHO DIDN'T FOLLOW THE LINK TO AICN!!!!!*
Cool. I always thought that the one thing the original Knight Rider needed was more lesbianism...

I look forward to it ... it doesn't matter how great or awful it will be, it will a fun blast from the past.
PS: It won't be worse than ABCs Dukes of Hazzard reunion a few years ago!

I see they're jumping on the "green" bandwagon and KITT will get 140 mpg. Great; maybe he'll be a George Barris-modified Prius. Better keep a tow truck nearby!
Seriously, if they're running with the "green" theme, a Chevy Volt with a solar-paneled roof would make sense.

I'm probably going to get flamed on this, but seeing as how K.I.T.T is supposed to be a technological powerhouse it's seems obvious to me that the new K.I.T.T. should be the new GT-R.
You wouldn't have to do anything to the interior at all! The car is a rolling playstation. But this'll never happen. More than likely they will use the new Camaro.

Actually, originally K.I.T.T. was going to be a 280Z, but then GM stepped in with the new Trans Am. So it is plausible, but likely tradition will win out.
Of course, K.I.T.T. with a Japanese accent would just be WRONG...
