Well, while I will admit that Scion has the youngest average age at 39, it seems to be more for the fact that for every 20yr old out there with one, there is a 60 yr old who has a similar one.
And I think Scion is relatively close in average age to Mazda and VW which seem to have a more diverse demographic keeping them young.
All that aside, I almost got the new xB, much better than the gen1. falling right into the average age and seemingly well outside the target market.

You're as old as you think you are. I'm past social security, liked the old xB better for size, and might buy something like this if it had some zoop, but still got 25 mpg. This one is a miss.

It's also that way because young people can't afford new cars. Older people have money.
