You win a year of Viagra to share with your old Corvette buddies!!

The GT-R has lapped the 'ring in 7:38, it's beaten Porsches in the corners, and can seat a full family(with small children) It is tecnologically superior, much more luxurious, and is just as fast while weighing about 500 pounds more.

I do not see how your comment of 3800lbs had anything to do with my comment on the VQ block's history or about the new VR block. The 'vette isn't selling for crap right now, Bowling Green is only producing 55 per day right now and GM has had to introduce money back incentives to move the ones they are selling. Any more the 'vette is a old fart car, most guys looking at sports cars would rather have an Evo or STI for $10-15K less.

The cars are different, very different, and they're pretty much equal, oh wait, I forgot that the Corvette is the absolute best car in the world for everything including groceries, moving, racing, flying, swimming, and fuel economy. I also remember that you called the GT-R a "ricer" car, so it must be true, and the fact that it was actually banned from most motor sports due to it's dominance has nothing to do with why it has, and will be the best race platform in history.

I respect the Corvette's history, but I'm in love with the GT-R and it's heritage even more, and I have a feeling that most young people like me would agree.

We'll see how they fare 1 on 1 when Nissan enters their GT1 GT-R in the ALMS, pleeeeaaseee Nissan!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nissanfreak87

Comments on Official specs of Nissan GT-R revealed

"The GT-R has lapped the 'ring in 7:38"

see, now here is where you and the nissan engineer disagree

naggs

Comments on Official specs of Nissan GT-R revealed

I'm just quoting what I've heard from several reliable sources

nissanfreak87

Comments on Official specs of Nissan GT-R revealed

the time you are quoting came from some rumor that some spy photographer though the car look like it might be running at.

there was also a rumor that the gtr was gunning for the carrera gt at 7.22

both were nothing but rumor

naggs

Comments on Official specs of Nissan GT-R revealed

The times I've heard were happening before the autoblog article on the 7:38 lap, but the laps are still very driver dependent, I run 7:40s in my modded Cayman in Forza 2 all the time while my dad can't get below 8:00 in the game, not knowing the car, and pure skill between drivers can add a couple seconds on any track, especially one that's 13 miles long

nissanfreak87

Comments on Official specs of Nissan GT-R revealed

oh perfect, you have forza

take the vette and take a skyline and lap both till you are confident. that should convince you how fast the vette is.

naggs

Comments on Official specs of Nissan GT-R revealed

This thing must be crazy light, I can't wait to see how they did it for $80,000.
