Citroen C2 becomes a Transformer in China
Proof that the Transformers franchise speaks to everyone wherever they live is this: a group of Chinese -- craftsmen? -- made a 1:1 scale transformer from a Citroen C2. The unnamed Autobot (at least, we couldn't read its name in Chinese) stands nearly 14-feet tall, weighs 1,320 pounds, and supposedly cost $8,000 to build. Talk about your Monster Garage... Follow the jump to watch the video, which based on the screen capture above looks like actual grainy footage of an Autobot on your local evening news.
Thanks for the tip, Gabriel!

First, that's not a C2, it's a C4.
Looks like an homage to the C4 transformer ads, though granted, they are themselves in tribute to the Japanese series.

It's a chinese C2, which is actually a 206 with some face surgery:

They named it X2. It's a hybrid of Bumblebee and Jazz with some of their own design.

Technically, the catered food at the build was Thai. And the head chef drove a second generation Evo, but that was a left-hand drive model made specifically for the Chinese Domestic Market and actually...
Sorry, I'm just playing around. The comments above just sort of cracked me up.

before all the Transfomers there was a commercial in Europe featuring the Citroen C4. You can't miss it on youtube. Maybe that's where the whole Transformers idea came?

No, Transformers have been around since 1984, when Hasbro started marketing repainted Takara toys.

If it doesn't transform, then it's not a transformer.
