He said the first 5,500 Challengers will all be Hemi Orange and only 1 per dealer - which means price gouging until the fall. Do these really exist as seperate fans any more? I'm sure in some of the flyover states, they're still hacking out whether Jimmy's Ford or Jeff's Mopar will pick up more confed cuties, but most fans these days seem to be broken into Domestic, Japanese, and European camps, with at most a slight preference for a particular brand.

Of course, there are those niche brands like Subaru, Mazda and VW that command extreme loyalty and even English-footballer levels of fandom at times, but for the most part, folks seem less attached to makes than in the past.

That's how it looks from California anyway. Very retro styling and will have plenty of power. Of course, it would suck to have to wait another year just to get a 6spd. That crosshair grill is so terribly ugly. Getting rid of it is another step toward a more successful Chrysler. Consumers think the "crosshair" grill is a symbol for cheap, as denoted by their dollar votes for Chrysler's vehicles. Getting rid of it is another step toward a much more successful domestic automobile industry.

And for all of you who are saying "but that's Dodge's trademark!" and stuff... The mustang looks like a teddy bear compared to this beast and the new Camaro. I really hope Ford redesigns the mustang to look almost identical to the Guigario Mustang (minus the goofy taillights). Sure it will get alot of press coverage but how many will we actually see? For me a car can get all the press coverage in the world but if I'm not seeing them on the road then all the accolades mean nothing. I think they should wait a year to release the Challenger until they can have a good inventory built up because many will want one but how many will be patient to wait for one while Chevy unveils a full lineup of the Camaro and Ford freshening the Mustang and able to put an attractive discount on a car already paid for.

As we have learned in the past, muscle car (all cars really) wars are not fought on blogging sites, drag strips or race tracks but in sales.

Tagg

Comments on Chrysler hates phone cams: 2009 Dodge Challenger revealed

The LAST thing Chrysler needs is an inventory build-up.
