First official pics of Nissan GT-R?

Will it ever stop? Between spy shots, Goodwood hill climbs and GT5 previews, we're almost to the point of GT-R overload. Then we start thinking about the next generation ATESSA all-wheel drive setup, the stroked 3.8-liter motor, and the two turbos hanging off the exhaust manifold, and we come to our senses. Godzilla's making a comeback, and it's just over two weeks away.
This newest shot comes courtesy of CAR, and although we've seen the Nissan GT-R in profile before, some of the more subtle elements caught our attention. The deeply drawn panel aft of the front wheels, the headlamps that almost stretch halfway across the quarter panel, the subtle front lip -- it all spells kick-ass in our lexicon, and we absolutely can't wait for its reveal in Tokyo.

Enough of this car already. I've seen so many pictures and specs and videos on this car, I no longer look forward to seeing this thing in person. Actually, it's getting to be downright boring now.

Are you old enough to remember the hype and endless pre-production pics, auto show displays, etc., of the Chrysler Maserati TC? It was shown for so long before it was FINALLY released, that people were joking that it was ready for a RE-STYLING! (Then, shortly after its final release, foolishly, Chrysler made their regular production Sebring look VERY much like it!)

That's because you're a repulsive lump of white trash with no reason for being. Hate is your creative outlet. Good luck with that!

I absolutely love the car.
However, I can't seem to think that history will repeat itself. In the early 90s Nissan and Mazda made fantastic sports cars but priced themselves out of the market.
No volume = no business case.

Have to disagree on that point.
The 90's meltdown was a product of them taking their mass market sports cars (ZX, RX-7, Supra, etc) and pricing them out of affordability for most people.
This is a completely different situation. The 350Z's not going anywhere. The GT-R is coming in on top of it, and we keeping hearing rumors of that smaller car to slot beneath the Z.
I think Nissan's biggest challenge with this car is going to be itself...i.e. getting someone to consider a Nissan versus a Porsche, Audi, Corvette, etc...and actually set foot in a Nissan dealership.

I'm going to go against what seems to be the consensus here and say this: I thing this thing is downright ugly. Out of the three redesigns(Subaru Impreza, Nissan GT-R, Mitsubishi Lancer), it seems to me like only Mitsubishi got it right. Make no mistake, I'd kill to drive one, but I really think the "sleeper" look of the R32-34 should not have been ditched.

They look fine.
It's just, it doesnt have the styling cues or hint of a supercar, unlike the the NSX.
it always been like this all generation.

So they copy the rear side of a Mustang, the doors of Ford GT, and throw in a Mazda RX-8 front end. Nissan's new slogan should be: If Kia and Hyundai can copy, so can we!

The GTR concept dates back to 2001, that was before the RX8, ford mustang and GT.
So your slogan should be, i don't do my home work.
Bryan 7:03PM (10/06/2007)
Oh simple Stefan, the Mustang has had that rear quarter panel look for almost a decade. GT? Try the 60's. Time for you to do your homework! Next.

"Doors of a ford gt and the front end of a RX-8?" uhh, what?

Its fake because the code of the new GTR is R35 and not V36, thats the skyline code.

What's up with the Lexus IS-F fender scoop? Not a big fan of the strange angle on the c pillar, either.
I'll reserve judgment until the official pictures are released.

I've been looking forward to this for awhile...
It still wears some camoflauge however. No car is going to be put on sale with that silly curve in the front bumper.
The camoflauge is in plain sight.
It's not revealed.
Not yet anyways;)
