MINI released a slew of new Clubman S pics for your viewing enjoyment and critical critique. There's not much more we can say, except that after enduring a journey in the back seat of our friend's R56 Cooper S over the weekend, the extra legroom and storage space should be a welcome addition. The extra power of the Clubman S, which boasts 175 HP compared to the standard model's 120 HP, is also much appreciated. Click the gallery below for over 60 live and press shots.

This just is not attractive...
Is it just me?

I think that what kills it for me is the back end "Barn Door" configuration and the painting of the C-Pillars different than the body color. I know paint can be painted over, but the barn doors still don't look quite right to me. Just my 2 cents.

The side profile is awkward with all of the seams in strange places for the rear doors too...

I have a Mini and I think this is lame. One of the major things the Mini has going for it is its looks so this car just lost a huge portion of its appeal.

It's like looking at a big, fat woman wearing a mini-skirt. Yuck.

Let's face it, the Mini is largely about style. Trying to add practicallity to the mix at the expense of some of that style is probably not a good idea. If you're concerned with practicality, you might as well get a GTI or maybe even Mazdaspeed3, both of which will be faster, cheaper, more durable and easier to live with,

Faster in a straight line maybe. I'll own a MS3 or GTI on a track any day.

I hated the way it looked in the spy shots.
I hated the looks of it at car shows.
Yet now I think it looks pretty good.

After owning a 2003, (with lame runflats) and I've never had a car with so many rattles.. it beat my 20 year old BMW convertible, beat the twice-rear-ended '70 Datsun 510. Such a bummer.
I can only imagine what the Clubman would sound like with that third door slapping around, plus the two rear doors at jiggling against eachother? Ick. Somehow the MINI seemed brilliant in the 2002 iteration.. the new one as well as the Clubman just seem kind of myopic and uncreative. At least the newer models will have Start-stop to help the mpg.

When I first saw that picture, I thought that was the old Mini. But it's the new Clubman. Laziest redesign since the 911.
Ugh.

It is an interesting design and will sell well.
However, I would like AWD. take a look at the 4 door SUV
