The Tonkalicious
Suzuki X-HEAD is already one of our favorite Tokyo '07 concepts, and not one of us has laid eyes on it in the metal. We hear the 4x4's a dash over 12 feet long and is powered by a 1372cc engine, but that's about it. For the rest, it seems we'll have to wait. The new batch of photos we've obtained shows us that the plucky pickup can carry at least one dirt bike in back and that its bedsides flip down to reveal additional storage compartments. The matte charcoal tailgate matches the grillework, which receives the same finish. Inside, the "X" theme is carried through in the yellow portions of the seats (which do
not look comfortable) and the shape of the harnesses. The letter "X" is so prevalent, we half expect to see this thing in the motor pool at
Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. We'll bring you full coverage from Tokyo later in the month.

Thats just cool! I feel I need at least one of those. I dont know why but I could find something to do with them.

I have the same exact feelings! I just have this unexplained urge to ditch my Impreza aspirations and pick up one of these babies instead.
Cypher09 @ Oct 3rd 2007 4:51PM
Ditto. Looks like the perfect way to haul around my standup jetski.

I can see this thing being put to use for the military somehow...maybe in snowy or rough terrain (e.g. jungle) situations
TStik @ Oct 3rd 2007 5:00PM
I can see it covered in mud, snow or whatever else. OHHHH if it had a deisel that would be amazing. I would buy one. Looks like a road-going tractor.

12ft, eh?
you know the beloved Samurai came in at around 11.25 ft.
so it's comes in somewhere between a Sammy and a Wrangler.
that's awesome. love the built-in winch.

It is a foot shorter than a Fit, so I think we are talking about something on the scale of those little utility trucks you see around golf courses and resorts. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I really like it. What would be awesome if the tailgate was an integrated ramp (by the pictures it looks tall/long enough). I would probably buy one of these (hunting/paintball/etc all have nasty crap I don't want on the inside, and it does not require a lot of power. Bring it here and make it a psuedo replacement for the X-90 (which i miss, and want to get one :( )

I wonder if the 1.3l is a very small four or a 3 cylinder? Very neat looking, a RWD verion only for me though, as I have no need for 4WD/AWD.

Perfect vehicle for an off-road excursion company.
People would pay top dollar to drive X-Head's around trails.

Suzuki:
Build this thing and make it available in the USA.
Oh, and don't f@#k it up!
BirdmanSTX @ Oct 3rd 2007 6:31PM
Just plain awesome. I'd like different taillights, but other than that, sign me up! Drop a nice diesel in there, and oh, how much fun/trouble could I get into with this thing :) Also like the individual moonroofs and upper center console... very nice. Please oh please build it, Suzuki :)

Best looking truck ever. . .
Seriously, I am all about the minicar's so this minitruck is just awesome. Especially when the only real competition for a truck this size would be the Ranger (ew).
TheCleaner @ Oct 3rd 2007 6:57PM
I'll be honest, im quite shocked at the good reception this truck has got. Im quite fond of it, but was imagining opening this article to 'wtf is that toy doing anywhere near the real world'
Reminiscent of the Merc Unimog
speedball3 @ Oct 3rd 2007 7:32PM
I like it too!! I love how the interior looks like a tough briefcase or one of those heavy duty laptops or something. Very cool!! Not really feeling the rear end plastic look, but everything else looks great. =)
Brian Dreggors @ Oct 3rd 2007 10:09PM
This thing looks like it wants a hug. Seriously, its cool.
mehugtree @ Oct 3rd 2007 10:49PM
autoblog previewed it a couple days ago and there were much less positive comments...and lots of comparisons with the 'mog!
Viva mini-mog!
mehugtree @ Oct 3rd 2007 10:53PM
sorry, was reply to TheCleaner...
