VIDEO: How to make art and ruin an Audi TT simultaneously
At least one magazine has not heard that print is dead. Not only is Intersection magazine -- where cars meet fashion -- not dead, it's doing so well that it can trash an Audi TT for a photo shoot. The TT, a 3.2 V6, was submerged in a pool in Chipping Norton, England, for the magazine's cover and an inside spread. And since you can't exactly go selling cars that have been used as submarines, the car was destroyed afterward.
We hope they at least removed the engine, since it didn't appear in the shoot. Then maybe they can dip the V6 in chocolate for the next issue. Follow the jump to watch video of the shoot.

someone put a girl on top of a drowned car?? and they later killed the car because it drowned??
am telling ya folks, this car will haunt the girl for the rest of her life, the car on top of the girl, in her bedroom, probably on her bed.
i could have photoshopped all dry shoots of the girl and audi and gave them the same effect, well, if they gave me the audi later. fair deal, huh ...?? i won't mind the girl either[that was nasty].

Very tasteful, progressive, sexy, and modern.
A sad waste of a great car yet a excellent piece of art.

They probably used a development prototype, they can't be sold as law, so they are usually crushed at the end of their useful lives. Car and Driver took a Corvette development mule to the Yukon (again) in this month's issue. These cars are already dead, so this is giving it a second life before the gaping maw of the crusher.

Every single person at Intersection magazine should be taken out back and shot.

I hope it was test model, otherwise that's just dumd... like the factory couldn't provide a car without engine, electronics and other expensive stuff

What an incredible waste. Funny part is that this is the same pool that Jeremy Clarkson drove a Rolls Royce into for the opening of the pool. How original. Do people actually use this pool to swim in?

The end result of this photoshoot was pretty awesome.
Yay, Intersection! My favorite print car mag... I was lucky enough to assist with their Nissan Bevel photo shoot this January...

Hasn't anyone ever heard of Photoshop? Why ruin a car to get that cover picture for a magazine while a Photoshop guru can produce a nearly identical image.

Sorry that was no mule, that was an off the lot Audi TT with a DSG equipped transmission. I still don't understand though, why not just buy the body shell? What a waste, god I hate art.

Ah jesus get over it. It's not like they ruined a rare and sacred classic. The first generation TT sold well over 250k copies, this one will likely surpass it. Whats one casualty for the sake of art? Seeing as thousands of these will likely be crashed into parked cars by silverspooned frat boys, I don't mind sacrificing one for a sexy photoshoot.

The pictures, for which this wonderful automobile was destroyed, could have just as easily been created using Photoshop. The pictures do not represent any creativity, or artistic talent, on the part of the photographer, and therefore did not justify the trashing of this car. I hope the artist and everyone involved in the project meet the same fate as the car.
