Is it just me or do those wheels have a pitch fork design?

Remember the Miata "M" edition?
Merlot Mica paint and BBS wheels.
That was a pretty sweet package.

Merlot Mica would be the '95 M. I had a '94 M - Montego Blue Mica. There was also a '96 M (Starlight Mica) and '97 M (Marina Green Mica). Great cars. The R editions were great, too...

I had one of those for a couple years. Added a rollbar, Eibach springs and KYB adjustable shocks, a couple chassis braces, and a set of Z-rated Bridgestones, and ended up with the best-handling little car I've ever driven. I miss it terribly.
What I don't miss is saying, "it's not purple, it's MERLOT MICA." :-)

They look like BBS racing wheels to me.
Oh, they were made by BBS? What a stunning revelation.
But, you're right, they are circular like the Alpina wheels, so this is a fail.
