Spy Shots: Just announced Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe spied
Just announced earlier this morning by BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer, this mule for the upcoming Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe was spotted wearing the disguise of a drop top. We're told not to let the convertible looks fool us, as this is not the already available Phantom Drophead Coupe. It is, however, remarkably similar to the 101EX Concept unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show. The production version should feature the Phantom's massive 6.75L V12 engine producing prodigious amounts of power in the neighborhood of 450 to 500 HP. Whereas the Drophead Coupe is a cruiser, expect the Phantom Coupe to be a driver's car unlike anything we've seen from Rolls-Royce in recent memory. That is, until a new line of smaller, less expensive Rolls-Royce models begin rolling out of Goodwood to take on the Bentley Continentals of the world.[Source: World Car Fans]

Twice as cool but half the fun as an Audi S4 convertible.

When you look at the third picture you can see on the road signs that:
a) The Rolls is entering a dead-end street.
b) Cars are prohibited to enter that street.
The lady behind the wheel must have been startled by the photographer.
The rear roof line could have been a bit more sleeker rather then a hardtop version of the drophead in my opinion. Great car though.

God I had hoped that they would fix the hideous front-end styling from the Phantom. Since BMW has taken over, all Rolls-Royce models look like something from Robocop. Apparently the grace and beauty of previous Rolls-Royce models is completely lost on its German owners.
And yes, in the interest of full disclosure, I am a previous Rolls-Royce owner. Oh well, maybe in a few years I can pick up a used Silver Seraph, the last true Rolls, cheap...
